7. Diagnostics for minor faults

The generating set...
Does not start
Stops
Does not function normally
(noise, smoke, etc.)
Does not supply electrical
current
Check that:
The pre-starting checks
have been carried out and the oil cut-
out warning light is off.

The starting procedure has been
performed, the fuel tank's vent tab and
fuel tap are open.
YES
The fuel tank is at least half full/the
generating set has been switched off for
less than 10 minutes.
YES
The spark plug is correctly
connected/does not need replacing.
YES
The devices to be used have not been
connected prior to starting.
YES
The oil level is correct, the oil cut-out
warning light is off.
YES
The fuel level is correct.
YES
Maintenance has been correctly
performed on the generating set
components.
YES
Have the generating set checked by a
professional.
Tripped circuit breaker(s).
YES
The connected devices and their power
cords are not faulty.
YES
Have the generating set checked by a
professional.
Solutions to be applied:
Perform the checks.

Follow the starting instructions carefully,
