2. Introduction
The Ambu
®
TwinPump and the Ambu
designed for pharyngeal and tracheal suction in emergency situations. The pumps can be
operated by foot or by hand.
The Ambu TwinPump is a double acting piston pump with high suction performance due to
a combination of large airflow and high vacuum. Thanks to its special twin-cylinder design
the pump is easily operated in a kneeling position, the foot resting continuously on the pump
pedal without being lifted in contrast to other foot operated pumps in which the return move-
ment is spring activated.
The compact dimensions of the Ambu TwinPump makes it the ideal pump for emergency
medical cases and other locations where space is limited.
