Tests
• The owner must guarantee that the installations and equipments are tested in
good conditions:
Before a first start and after an alteration or repair but before returning to
-
normal use, by an electrical technician or under the technician´s
supervision
In specific intervals. The times will be determined in a way that the
-
deficiencies that may appear can be detected on time.
During the tests, the good habits in electro technology must be respected.
-
• In case it is required by the professional union, it will be mandatory to have a
book were tests will be registered.
3. Safety instructions
3.1 Network tensions, high tensions
In the network and in the electric systems of the vehicles, there are
dangerous electric tension levels. There is the risk of electric shock
if parts under tension (for ex. Ignition coil) or damaged insulations
(for ex. rat bites on the ignition wires) are touched. This applies to
the primary and secondary sides of the ignition system, to the
electric harness with fitting connections, to the light installations
and even to the wiring to the vehicle.
Safety Measures:
• Plug just to power plugs with protected poles and properly grounded.
• Use only the power cord supplied with the equipment or a previously tested
one.
• Use only extension cords with protected poles.
• Replace the cords which insulation cover is damaged.
• Plug first to the electric network before plugging into the vehicle.
• Plug the wire (B-) to a motor grounding point or to the battery (B-) before
turning the ignition ON.
• The ignition must always be turned OFF before doing any intervention in the
electric system of any vehicle. The interventions are, for example: Wiring to the
vehicle, replacing ignition system parts, disassembling of groups(for ex.
alternators), wiring of groups to a test bench.
• The tests and adjustments must be preferably done with the ignition OFF and
the engine stopped.
If these tests and adjustments are done with the ignition ON or with the engine
working, be careful to not touch on electricity conductive parts.
This applies to all the connection wires and the wires connecting groups to the
test benches.
The test connections must be always done with the proper connecting elelements
(for ex. Tecnomotor´s Test Cables Kit or specific adapter cables of the vehicle).
• Plug the test connectors properly and check if the connection got well fitted.
