3.6 Choking hazard
The exhaust gases of the vehicles contain carbon monoxide(CO).
A colorless and odorless gas. In case of inhale, the carbon
monoxide causes lack of oxygen in the body.
It´s mandatory to be especially careful when working into the pit,
because some exhaust gases components are heavier than air,
thus they concentrate in the bottom of the pits. Pay attention also
to the vehicles with LPG systems
Safety measures:
• Provide always a good ventilation and aspiration (especially in the pits)
• In closed rooms, plug and turn on the aspiration device.
3.7 Stumbling hazard
During test and adjustment work, there is risk of stumbling with
sensor or connection cables.
Safety measures:
• Put the connection cables in a way of avoid stumbling on them.
3.8 Noise
During the tests on the vehicle, especially in case of the engine
turning at high RPM, the noise level can reach values higher than
70 dB (A). Continuous exposition to this noise level can cause
damage to the human ears.
Safety measures:
• The company owner of the equipment must protect from noise the work areas
beside the test room.
The user could be compelled to use individual ear protection equipment.
Warning: Some special functions, if executed in a wrong way, might
damage the vehicle system and the equipment itself. For such reason,
technical training on the equipment operation is mandatory
The car connectors might suffer alterations, so the use of the equipment
with these connectors can cause damage to the system and to the
equipment too.
Some readings are done with the car and the engine working. For such
reason, specific training is mandatory for the user.
