4. INSTALLATION
8 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM where applicable
Connection to the motor and relevant electrical installation must be per-
formed by a skilled electrical technician in compliance with electrical
standards in force. The connecting cable must be sized based on motor
absorption and cable length (refer to the tables on the technical catalo-
gue). The connection between the motor cable and the power supply
cable must be carried out according to the instructions in Fig. 39.
WARNING!
Always make the earth connection of the motor casing.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCKS.
The motor must always be protected from overloads by a thermal re-
lay calibrated at the motor plate current.
STARTERS FOR ELECTRIC MOTORS
If the starters are not supplied by the manufacturer, use suitable equip-
ment.
Direct starters are recommended for power up to 7.5 kW; for higher
powers it is advisable to insert impedance or resistance starters or with
star/delta autotransformer.
In any case, the electrical installer must respect the reference standards
of the country of installation and the power supply mains features.
The motors must be protected from overload, lack of phase, voltage
drop.
WARNING!
The technician will be responsible for the final acceptance tests requi-
red by the standards, including absorptions and degree of insulation of
the motor and its system and at the end issue the certification of con-
formity of the relative electrical system.
