2.4 Device description
The BLG 12/24 V – 120 A battery charger can
be used to charge 12 V or 24 V wet-cell batteries
(lead-antimony, lead-calcium, EFB), maintenance-
free AGM, gel and fleece batteries, and Li-ion
batteries.
The device can also be used as an external power
supply unit (PSU) for motor vehicles.
The BLG 12/24 V – 120 A battery charger has a
desktop housing. An internal fan is used for coo-
ling. Make sure that the ventilation slots of the BLG
12/24 V – 120 A charger are not covered.
Display
The current charging current and current charging
voltage are displayed on the LC touch display
during charging. Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) indi-
cate the current charge status or any fault.
Maximum charging current: at 12 V: I
• The battery can remain installed during charging
and does not have to be disconnected from the
electrical system.
• Reliable protection of the vehicle electronics, as
no current or voltage peaks occur.
External PSU operation
(external power supply)
The charger works in support mode as an external
power source. This allows electrical systems in
vehicles to be powered and tested even without a
battery.
Buffer operation
The charger ensures safe charging and retention of
the battery charge in charge mode, even when the
consumer is switched on: up to 60 A at 24 V and
120 A at 12 V.
Reverse polarity protection
The charger detects any reversed polarity and
does not start the charging process when in charge
mode. The white LED will light up.
