DONNING
Precaution
• Failure to adhere to these instructions may compromise comfort and/
or suspension.
• Do NOT apply lotion to the residual limb immediately prior to
donning the device. To prevent device damage, the residual limb
should be clean and dry.
• Open wounds or damaged skin should be covered with a bandage or
other appropriate covering to prevent direct contact between the
wound and device.
• Ensure the inside of the device is clean, dry, and free from any foreign
objects that may cause skin irritation.
1. The device should be oriented with the logo on the front of the
residual limb (Figure 5).
2. Grip the top of the device from the inside and slide it over the hand
until the inner surface is fully exposed, taking care not to damage it
with fingernails (Figure 6).
3. After exposing as much of the distal end of the device as possible,
position it against distal end of the the residual limb (Figure 7).
4. With light compression roll the device all the way upwards onto the
limb (Figure 8), taking care not to damage it with fingernails. Do NOT
tug or pull.
5. Check that no air pockets are present.
6. For locking liners it is important to align the pin on the distal end
properly such that it does not cause discomfort when the socket has
been donned (Figure 9).
Warning: The cushion liners should not be used without a suspension
sleeve.
DAILY CARE
Precaution: Daily cleaning of the residual limb is essential. Use of a mild,
pH balanced, 100% fragrance- and dye-free liquid soap is recommended.
If skin is dry, apply a pH balanced, 100% fragrance- and dye-free lotion to
nourish and soften the skin.
Perspiration
Precaution: If device use results in excessive perspiration such that
stability or suspension are compromised, it is recommended to remove
the device and dry off both the device and the residual limb.
Cleaning
Precaution: Excessive heat may damage the device. Take care not to scrub
the surface of the device, since that can roughen the surface which can
cause skin irritation.
