General information

These instructions describe start-up of the
CRI/CRIN 848H tester set.
These instructions are only valid in conjunction with the
instructions supplied for the:

Common rail test bench EPS 708 / injection pump
test bench EPS 815
R
Continuous quantity measurement system
KMA 802/822 (use with EPS 815)
R
Tester set CRS 845/CRS 845H for common rail high-
pressure pumps (use with EPS 815)
These instructions must also be kept and distributed
together with the instructions listed above.

Requirement

The following test equipment must be set up and
ready for use for start-up and operation of the
CRI/CRIN 848H. .
For operation on EPS 70�
No additional extensions are required for operation of
the CRI/CRIN 848H tester set on the EPS 708. CRI/CRIN 848H tester set on the EPS 708. tester set on the EPS 708.
For operation on EPS �15
When testing injectors it is essential that the
2 kVA mains transformer and the voltage stabilizer
1 687 001 608 have been installed into the EPS 815.
If the EPS 815 has already been upgraded with the
VPM 844 supplementary equipment set, then these
components have been installed during the upgrade
process and do not therefore need to be ordered sepa-
rately.

KMA 802/822 electronic metering system.

Test set for CRS 845/CRS 845H common rail high-
pressure pumps tester set.
R
Voltage stabilizer 1 687 001 608.
R
PC computer unit (Windows 2000/XP) with COM4
interface.

Single open-end wrench for drive flange (Order num-
ber: 1 687 950 531).

Preparing high-pressure pump

All the items required are contained in the parts set
1 687 222 181.
1. Detach O-ring (Pos. 5) from drive shaft of high pres-
sure pump and remove.
2. Mount clamping blocks (Pos. 2) using hexagon bolts
(M 8 x 40) and washers.
3. Fasten high-pressure pump (Pos. 1) using three
hexagon socket bolts (M 8 x 40) to clamping bracket
(Pos. 3).
4. Mount drive flange (Pos. 4) onto drive shaft of high-
pressure pump.

Preparation of inlet connector

All the items required are contained in the parts set
1 687 016 071.

Slip a 9.5 x 2 O-ring (Pos. 2) over the inlet connector
(Pos. 1).
