Follow the safety instruction!
Before using the BENNING CM 3, please read the operating manual carefully.
Follow the safety instructions in this manual. In this way you will ensure safe
operation and will retain the BENNING CM 3 in safe condition.

Contents of delivery
The following items are included in the delivery of a BENNING CM 3 :
3.1 one BENNING CM 3,
3.2 one protective carrying case with velcro fastening,
3.3 one 9-V block battery (built into current clamp ),
3.4 one operating manual.
Note on replaceable parts:
The BENNING CM 3 is powered by one 9-V block battery (IEC 6 LR 61).

Tester description
The BENNING CM 3 is a meter with Hall effect and manual range selection.
refer to figure 1:
The display and operating elements shown in figure 1 are denoted as follows:
 Clamp jaws, for gripping single DC or AC conductors.
 Current clamp safety guard, protects user from electrical contact.
 Trigger, to open and close the clamp jaws.
 Switch, for the HOLD function (retaining function),

slide the switch to the right to hold the reading on display (the
annunciator H appears in the digital display , and the display is not
updated by subsequent readings),
-
slide the switch to the left to resume recording of readings.
 Adjustment potentiometer (knob). For setting voltage display to nil before
DC current measurements.
 Switch, for the selection of desired current type (AC - DC).
 Switch, for range selection (200 A/ 600 A), with annunciator
 Digital LCD display, shows the following:
-
measurement value up to a maximum value of 1999,
-
a polarity indicator
-
a decimal point,
-
low battery symbol,
-
the selected current type (alternating voltage / direct voltage),
-
the measurement value retained in memory (Hold function).

General Specifications
5.1 General specifications for the BeNNING CM 3
5.1.1
The digital display is a 3½ digit liquid crystal display with 14 mm digit
height and automatic decimal point placement. The highest display
value is 1999.
5.1.2
The polarity display  is automatic. As positive is implied by the
defined input terminal, only a negative pole will be indicated with "-" on
the jaw of the clamp.
5.1.3
Overranging is indicated by "1" or "-1".
5.1.4
The measuring rate for the numerical display of the BENNING CM 3 is
a nominal 2.5 readings per second rate.
5.1.5
The BENNING CM 3 powers off automatically after approx. 30 minutes.
It can be powered on again by pushing switch .

Sensor type: Hall sensor for direct and alternating current.

Temperature coefficient of the measurement reading:
0.2 x (given accuracy)/ °C , < 18 °C or > 28 °C.
