für das Handgelenk. Sie besteht aus einer langen
Unterarmschiene. Die Gurte der Unterarmschiene

Versogung vorgesehen. Sie wurde an Sie persönlich

The ManuLoc/ManuLoc long you have purchased is a
high quality medical product. Please read through all
of these instructions for use carefully, because they
contain important information about the use,
indications, contraindications, application, care and
disposal of the ManuLoc/ManuLoc long. Please keep
the instructions for use safe, as you may want to read
them again later. If you have any questions, please
contact your physician or medical retailer.
Intended use
The ManuLoc/ManuLoc long is an anatomically
contoured stabilizing orthosis. It stabilizes and, if
necessary, immobilizes the injured wrist and helps
prevent undesired movements. Two lateral stays and
a metacarpal stay stabilize the wrist and lower arm.
Large Velcro fastenings fix the orthosis in place.
For optimum care, the ManuLoc is available in two
styles:

ManuLoc long: for increased stabilization of the
wrist
If the product is not used properly, all warranty
rights will be rendered null and void.

• ManuLoc/ManuLoc long must only be worn in
accordance with the specifications contained in
these instructions for use and used for the areas of
application (intended use, parts of the body) listed.
• To ensure the optimum fit of the ManuLoc/ManuLoc
long, the size of ManuLoc/ManuLoc long required
must be determined by a trained specialist
• The sewn-in label of the ManuLoc/ManuLoc
long, which contains information on the size,
manufacturer, washing instructions and CE mark,
is located in the insertion opening for the wide stay
located on the inside of the hand (the volar stay).
Only a trained specialist may carry out the (initial)
fitting of the orthosis and provide instruction.
• Use in combination with other products, e.g. as
part of compression treatment, must be discussed
beforehand with your physician.
• Should you experience increased discomfort or
notice any unusual changes, please contact your
physician without delay.
• No product liability is accepted in the event of
improper use. Do not allow the product to come
into contact with ointments, lotions or substances
containing grease or acids.
• This product is intended for the treatment of one
patient only.
• No side effects that affect the entire body have been
reported to date. Correct usage/fitting is assumed.
Any medical aids – such as supports and orthoses
– applied externally to the body can, if tightened ex-
cessively, lead to local pressure symptoms or, rarely,
constrict the underlying blood vessels or nerves.

Contraindications
No clinically significant hypersensitive reactions have
been reported to date. If you have any of the following
conditions, such aids should only be fitted and worn
after consultation with your physician:
• Skin disorders/injuries in the relevant part of the
body, particularly if inflammation is present.
Likewise, any raised scars with swelling, redness
and excessive heat build-up.
• Impaired sensation and circulatory disorders of the
arm/hand, e.g. in the case of diabetes mellitus.
• Impaired lymph drainage – including soft tissue
swellings of uncertain origin located away from the
fitted aid.
Application instructions
Putting on the ManuLoc/ManuLoc long

Start by loosening the three Velcro straps on the
lower arm splint (or the four Velcro straps on the

long version).
Place the ManuLoc/ManuLoc long
on the correct hand. The straps are thus located on
the top of the lower arm and on the back of the hand.

Fasten the straps on the lower arm splint in the
following sequence: Lower arm straps 1, 2 and the
strap over the back of the hand (or lower arm straps
1, 2, 3 and the strap over the back of the hand on the
long version).
Taking off the ManuLoc/ManuLoc long
Loosen the straps on the lower arm splint in the
reverse order. Take off the ManuLoc/ManuLoc long.
Cleaning instructions
Never expose the ManuLoc/ManuLoc long to
direct heat (e.g. heaters, sunlight, in your car). This
may damage the material, which can impair the
effectiveness.
The product can be machine washed separately at 30
°C with liquid detergent. Please note the following:
• Remove the Velcro straps if possible, or fasten
them securely in position.
We recommend that you use a mesh bag (spin cycle:
maximum 500 rpm). Air dry the product. Do not dry
it in a tumble-dryer because this can damage the
product.
This product has been tested by our in-house quality
management system. If you have any complaints,
please contact your medical retailer only. Please note
that only clean goods can be dealt with.

Assembly and fitting instructions
The ManuLoc/ManuLoc long is supplied in an
anatomically contoured state. The orthosis is equally
suitable for both the right and left hand.
Technical specifications/parameters,

The ManuLoc/ManuLoc long is a stabilizing orthosis
for the wrist. It consists of a long lower arm splint.
The straps on the lower arm splint are detachable.
No spare parts are available.
Notes on reuse
This product is intended for your treatment only and
has been adjusted specifically for you.
For this reason, do not pass the ManuLoc/ManuLoc
long on to other people.
Warranty
The legal provisions of the country in which the

product was purchased apply. Country-specific
warranty regulations that govern the relationship
between the retailer and the buyer also apply where
relevant. If you believe that a claim may be made
under the warranty, please first contact the retailer
from which you purchased the product directly.
Please do not make any changes to the product

The aluminum stays are anatomically contoured, but
they can still be individually adjusted to the patient.
Shaping the stays:

Carefully remove the stays from the insertion
pockets and shape them to the anatomy of the
patient. Reinsert the three stays into the pockets
provided.
