PRECAUTION:
CPO or assistant shall read Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before
using product. Refer to appropriate MSDS if contact with resin or fibers
should occur.
Safety glasses are to be worn by patient, prosthetist and prosthetics
technician. To avoid contact with resin and fibers, hand out safety glasses
to patient and assistant. After putting on safety glasses and protective
gloves, make sure patient and technician are also wearing safety glasses.
Do not remove safety glasses and protective gloves during the casting
phase.
CPO shall ensure that tubing is well secured on the Resin Cartridge Static
Mixer and on the Injection Valve of the Distal Connector.
Resin shall be injected and spread out evenly from the distal end towards
the proximal end. Excessive material build-up at the distal end can cause
an exotherm reaction, making it harder to inject more resin.
Direct Socket resin and braid have been tested and qualified as
a combination. Össur does not recommend the use of other resin types
with Direct Socket braids.

MAINTENANCE / CLEANING / PRODUCT CARE
Cleaning the Iceross
Follow these steps to clean the liner each time after use:
1. Invert the liner, exposing the inner surface that has been in contact
with the amputee's skin.
2. Wash the inner and outer surface with a pH balanced, 100%
fragrance- and dye-free soap. Do not use synthetic detergents or oil-
based soaps to clean the Iceross Direct Casting liner.
3. Once clean, rinse the liner with water and make sure all traces of soap
are removed.
4. After rinsing, disinfect the inner surface of the Iceross Direct Casting
by spraying it with an alcohol-based lubricant. Leave the liner to dry.
Cleaning the Direct Socket:
Use a damp cloth to clean the socket regularly. This will prevent dirt and
residues from building up and affecting comfort or suspension.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DIRECT SOCKET CASTING
Direct Socket casting is divided into three phases: Preparation, casting,
and finishing.
Note: deviating from the following steps can create safety risks for the
patient, assistant technician and CPO, as well as create an unusable
