If you are replacing the primary hard disk drive, copy the files from that drive
using the instructions in "Copying files to your new primary drive" on page
1-17 before you disconnect it.

Step 3: Unpacking the drive

To unpack and handle the IBM SCSI Hard Disk Drive, do the following:
Attention: To prevent damage to the drive, limit handling to a minimum.
1. Before opening the static-protective bag containing the drive, touch the bag
and your hand to an unpainted metal surface on the computer for at least 2
seconds.
2. Remove the drive from the static-protective bag, and handle it by the
edges. Do not touch any exposed components on the drive.
3. If you must put the drive down, place the static-protective bag on a flat,
padded surface, and place the drive on the bag with the component side
facing up.
