Using bar "A" again, measure distance "Y" between the cover
surface (18) and the face of bearing (50).
e.g.: Y = 86.1 mm

Make up an appropriate pack of shims (35) choosing among
available shims.
E.g.: 0.2 + 0.1 = 0.5 mm

Apply grease to shims (35) and position them in the cover (34).
Apply Loctite 510 to cover face (34); centre shims (35) and bearing
(36), and coated with Loctite 510; tighten to a torque of 50 Nm.

Work out the difference between the two measures to calculate
thickness "S" for shim to be inserted under the cover (34) so as to
obtain the prescribed clearance, that is 0.25±0.45 mm.
E.g.: S= (Y-X) - (0,25±0,45)
86.1-85.2+0.25±0.45 = 86.1 - (85.45±85.65) = 0.65±0.45 mm 0.5

Take out intermediate shaft assembly (22) and remove cover (34).

Fit the engine flange (28) complete with O-ring (53) and attach it
with the screws (27) coated with Loctite 510.
Tighten the screws using the criss-cross tightening method to 50
Nm.
