Error message
Cause
DELTAV
Voltage difference per full pH
unit is less 35 mV: sensor too old
or accidentally calibrated twice
with same buffer solution.
OFFSET
Sensor voltage at pH 7.00 is
outside the range: sensor too
old, cable faulty or no sensor
connected.
UNSTAB
Unstable sensor voltage: sensor
tip very dirty, electrolyte leaked
out of sensor or sensor tip bro-
ken off.
with age i.e. they deviate from the original set-
ting. Regular re-calibration (comparison of the
device with the changed measuring ability of the
sensors) is vital to obtain reliable results. As a rule,
the more often, the better. The JBL pH Control
has a built-in calibration reminder which reminds
you every 30 days to calibrate the sensor (Item
10.1). Calibration should on no account be dela-
yed any longer, although measurements can still
be carried out.
If the message "Sensor defect" with the symbol
of the operator instructions appears at the end
of the calibration process together with an error
message such as DELTAV, OFFSET or similar, cali-
bration should be repeated:
Press the Menu key, select Calibration and press
OK. The device will guide you through the calibra-
tion process again.
In the event that calibration is unsuccessful a se-
cond time, consult the following table.
Remedy
Repeat
correct buffer solution is used.
If unsuccessful, connect new
sensor and calibrate.
Check sensor cable for damage,
connect sensor correctly and
repeat calibration. If unsuccess-
ful, connect new sensor and
calibrate.
Clean sensor tip, place in stor-
age solution for 24 hours, then
calibrate. If unsuccessful, con-
nect new sensor and calibrate.
