Stacking the kiln

WARNING
Risk of serious personal injury or property damage:
NOTE
Ware must not be directly placed on the base plate of the kiln. Direct stacking inevitably leads
to damage and makes it necessary to replace the base plate.
NOTE
The supports of each layer must always be positioned above or below the supports of the
respective level above or below.
Stacking the kiln:
• Place the supplied cordierite supports in the shape of a triangle on the base plate of the kiln.
• The cordierite supports on the 1st level should have a height of around 15-20 mm.
• Then place the first furniture batt on top. The ware should be placed on this furniture batt.
• The ware must not protrude beyond the furniture batt.
• If the furniture batts are positioned too close to the heating elements, they are at great risk of cracking. There
should be a distance of at least 20 mm to the heating elements.
• Several furniture batts can be positioned on top of each other to optimally fill the inner volume of the kiln with
ware.
• 3 supports must always be used for each furniture batt.
• In the case of 2-part and multi-part furniture batts, 3 supports per panel are used, with furniture batts that are
next to each other sharing one support (see the figure below).
• The supports should be as close as possible to each other.
• The supports at each level must always be of the same height.
• The supports of each level must always be positioned above or below the supports of the respective level above
or below.
