3) Tighten the Support Rod Screw with a screwdriver
4) Repeat above steps to install the other Support Rod
Saw blade spanner
For convenient storage and prevention of loss, there is a pair of brackets on the rear
side of the right Guide Fence (11) for storing the Blade Spanner (35) when not in
use.
Unlocking the cutting head
Raising
To unlock the cutting head from the collapsed position:
1) Push down the Operating Handle (1) slightly
2) Pull out the Hold-Down Latch (23)
3) Raise the cutting head to the uppermost position
Note: The cutting head is spring loaded.
WARNING: To avoid injury and damage to the saw, transport and store the mitre
saw with the cutting head locked in the down position. Never use the Hold-Down
Latch (23) to hold the cutting head in a down position for cutting operations.

Installing the dust bag
1) Push the connecting tube of the Dust Bag (31) onto the Dust Port (20)
Note:
The Dust Bag assembly should be angled toward the right side of the saw for
best results. This will also avoid any interference during the saw operation
To empty the Dust Bag, remove the dust bag assembly from the dust port. Open
the zipper on underside of bag and empty into a waste container
IMPORTANT: Check frequently and empty the Dust Bag before it gets full.
WARNING: Do not use this saw to cut and/or sand metals. The hot chips or
sparks may ignite sawdust from the bag material.
Installing the hold-down clamp (Fig. III)
1) Loosen the Hold-down Clamp Locking Knob (38) at the side of the saw base
2) Place the Hold-down Clamp (12) in one of the Hold-down Clamp Mounting Holes
(39)
3) Tighten the Hold-down Clamp Locking Knob
Mounting the mitre saw
WARNING: To avoid injury from unexpected saw movement:
Disconnect the power cord from the outlet, and lock the cutting head in the lower
position using the Hold-Down Latch (23)
Lock the Slide Carriage (13) in place by tightening the Slide Carriage Lock Knob
(14)
To avoid back injury, lift the saw by using the designated Carry Handle (19)
located on the top of the machine. When lifting, bend at your knees, not from
your back
Never carry the mitre saw by the power cord or by the Operating Handle (1).
Carrying the tool by the power cord could cause damage to the insulation or the
wire connections resulting in electric shock or fire
To avoid injury from flying debris, do not allow visitors to stand near the saw
during any cutting operation
Support the saw on a level work surface
Bolt or clamp the saw to its support
Mounting instructions
For stationary use, place the saw in the desired location, directly on a workbench
where there is room for handling and proper support of the workpiece. The Base
(4) of the saw has eight Mounting Holes (26), four 6.4 mm holes and four 9.5mm
holes. Select the proper Mounting Holes based on the size of bolts used.
Note: Mounting tools are not included with this tool. Bolts, nuts, washers and screws
must be purchased separately.
For portable use, place the saw on a 19 mm thick piece of plywood. Bolt the
Base of the mitre saw securely to the plywood using the Mounting Holes on the
Base. Use C-clamps to clamp this mounting board to a stable work surface at the
worksite
Operating instructions
WARNING: Never connect the plug to the power source outlet until all
installations and adjustments are completed and you have read and understood the
safety and operational instructions.
WARNING: For your convenience, your saw has a blade brake. The brake is not
a safety device. Never rely on it to replace the proper use of the guard on your saw.
If the Blade (28) doesn't stop within approximately 10 seconds, wait for the Blade to
stop, unplug the saw and contact customer service.
Body and hand position (Fig. IV)
WARNING:
Never place hands near the cutting area. Proper positioning of your body and
hands when operating the mitre saw will make cutting easier and safer.
Keep children away. Keep all visitors at a safe distance from the mitre saw.
Make sure bystanders are clear of the saw and workpiece.
Don't force the saw. It will do the job better and safer at its designed rate.
Starting a cut:
1) Place hands at least 216.5mm away from the path of the Blade (28) – out of the
"no-hands zone" (a)
2) Clamp workpiece firmly against the Guide Fence (11) to prevent movement
toward the Blade
3) With the saw switched OFF, bring the Blade down to the workpiece to see the
cutting path of the Blade
4) Start the saw
5) Lower the Blade into the workpiece with a firm downward motion
Finishing a cut:
1) Hold the cutting arm in the down position
2) Release the ON/OFF Trigger Switch (17) and wait for all moving parts to stop
