(29) clockwise or counter clockwise to adjust the height of the Table Support
4) Tighten the nut
Adjusting cutting depth (Fig. XVI)
The maximum depth travel of the cutting head was set at the factory. Setting the
maximum depth travel of the cutting head (Fig. XVI):
1) Turn the Cutting Depth Adjusting Knob (21) counter clockwise until it is not
protruding out of the Depth Stop Block (62) bottom while moving the cutting head
upward.
2) Rotate the Depth Stop Plate (63) clockwise to touch the Hold Down Latch (23).
3) Recheck the Blade (28) depth by moving the cutting head front to back through
the full motion of a typical cut along the control arm.
Setting the maximum height travel of the cutting head (Fig. XVI)
1) Turn the Cutting Depth Adjusting Knob (21) counter clockwise until it is not
protruding out of the Depth Stop Block (62) bottom while moving the cutting head
upward.
2) Rotate the Depth Stop Plate (63) counter clockwise to touch the Depth Stop Seat
(64).
3) Make sure the Depth Stop Block touches the Depth Stop Plate completely.
Setting the cutting depth (Fig. XVI)
The depth of cut can be pre-set for even and repetitive shallow cuts.
1) Adjust the cutting head down until the teeth of the Blade (28) are at the desired
depth
2) While holding the upper arm in that position, turn the Cutting Depth Adjusting
Knob (21) until it touches the Depth Stop Plate (63)
3) Recheck the Blade depth by moving the cutting head front to back through the
full motion of a typical cut along the control arm
Note: If the Depth Stop Plate becomes loose, it can interfere with raising and
lowering the cutting head. The Depth Stop Plate must be tightened in the horizontal
position.
Extension table (Fig. XVII)
The left and right-side extension tables can offer extra support for long workpieces.
1) Lift the Extension Table Locking Lever (45) and pull out the left extension table to
the desired support length
2) Push down on the Extension Table Locking Lever to tighten the extension table.
3) Repeat for the right-side extension table if needed
4) If the Extension Table Locking Lever will not tighten, adjust the Extension Table
Nut (65) located under the Base (4), turn 1/4 clockwise using a 10mm spanner
until tight
Avoid direct eye contact
WARNING: Laser radiated when laser guide is turned on. Avoid direct eye
contact.
Note: All the adjustments for the operation of this machine have been completed at
the factory. Due to normal wear and use, some occasional readjustments may be
necessary.
WARNING: Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures may
result in hazardous radiation exposure.
WARNING: The use of optical instruments with this product will increase eye
hazard.
WARNING: Do not attempt to repair or disassemble the laser. If unqualified
persons attempt to repair this laser product, serious injury may result. Any repair
required on this laser product should be performed by a qualified service dealer.
Laser guide adjustment
WARNING: To prevent serious injury, insert a padlock (not provided) or chain
with padlock through the hole in the Laser ON/OFF Switch (18) prior to making any
laser adjustment. DO NOT remove the lock from the Laser ON/OFF Switch during
any laser adjustment.
Checking laser line alignment:
1) Set the saw to a 0° mitre and 0° bevel setting.
2) Use a combination square to mark a 90° angled running across the top and
down the front of a board. This line will serve as the pattern line to adjust the
laser. Place the board on the Mitre Table (9).
3) Carefully lower the saw head down to align the Blade (28) with the pattern line.
Position the Blade to the left, centre or right side of the pattern line depending on
your preference for the laser line location. Lock the board in place with the Hold-
down Clamp (12).
4) With the saw plugged in, turn on the laser guide. Your saw has been pre-set with
the laser line to the left side of the Blade.

WARNING: When making laser line adjustments, keep fingers away from the
Laser ON/OFF Switch to prevent accidental starting and possible serious injury.
5) Slide the cutting head forward enough so that the laser line is visible on the front
of the board.
6) Use the Laser Vertical Adjustment Knob (16) and the Laser Horizontal
Adjustment Knob (15) to align the laser line with the pattern line
Note: After performing the above adjustments, visually check that both the front and
top laser lines are parallel with pattern line.
Basic maintenance
Report faults in the machine, including guards or saw blades, as soon as they are
discovered.
WARNING:
To avoid injury, never put lubricants on the Blade (28) while it is spinning.
To avoid fire or toxic reaction, never use petrol, naphtha, acetone, lacquer
thinner or similar highly volatile solvents to clean the mitre saw.
For your safety, this saw is double-insulated. To avoid electrical shock, fire or
injury, use only parts identical to those identified in the parts list. Reassemble
exactly as the original assembly to avoid electrical shock.
Cleaning
Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear
quickly, and shorten the machine's service life. Clean the body of your machine
with a soft brush or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow
through the ventilation holes
Clean the tool with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol,
petrol or strong cleaning agents
Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts
Frequently blow out or vacuum up the sawdust that accumulates under the work
table and base
Replacing the table insert (Fig. XVIII)
WARNING:
To avoid injury:
Always unplug the saw to avoid accidental starting. Remove all small pieces of
material from the Mitre Table (9) cavity before performing any cuts. The Table
Insert (5) may be removed for this purpose, but always reattach the Table Insert
prior to performing a cutting operation
Do not start the mitre saw without checking for interference between the Blade
(28) and Table Insert. Damage could result to the Blade, Table Insert or turntable
if Blade strike occurs during the cutting operation
1) Loosen and remove the six Table Insert Fixing Screws (66) on the Table Insert
with a Phillips screwdriver to remove the Table Insert
2) Replacing the Table Insert, install the six Table Insert Fixing Screws and tighten
3) Check for Blade clearance by moving the Slide Carriage (13) through the full
motion of the Blade in the table slot
