SET-UP AND OPERATION

3.1

Set-up

Place the control unit on a flat, dry surface, such as an arthroscopy equipment cart or a small
instrument table.
Connect the main cable lead with the main jack on the back panel of the device. Connect the
cable plug to the power socket. If an extension cord is required, it must be grounded.
Once the control unit has been connected, it is ready for use. The roll pump is in stand-by
mode (the green LED in the stand-by button on the front panel flashes).
Simply press the standby button to turn the roll pump on (the green LED in the standby
button on the front panel stays on). Press standby again to return it to stand-by mode.
NOTE: The system will run continuously without a fault from power failures for up to
50 minutes. If a longer power failure occurs, the system will return to its
basic mode.
If high-frequency instruments are in use or defibrillation of the patient is

required, ensure equipment is not in direct contact with the patient.
