Problem
Electric valve will not operate.
Pump runs but will not pump oil.
or
Pump will not build full pressure.
Pump builds full pressure, but torque
wrench does not advance.
Torque wrench will not retract.
Pressure gauge does not read zero
(0) psi/bar when pump motor is
stopped.
Pump runs hot.
Troubleshooting Guide (continued)
Possible Cause
No power to pump or wrong voltage.
Solenoid cable disconnected or damaged.
Solenoid coil not operational.
Pump is not primed.
Reservoir breather not installed.
Low oil level.
Relief valve pressure set too low.
External system leak.
Oil intake screen clogged.
Internal leak in pump.
Internal leak in valve.
Internal leak in system component.
Torque greater than wrench capacity at full pressure.
Advance fl ow line to wrench restricted or blocked.
Return fl ow line from wrench restricted or blocked.
Valve malfunction.
Pressure not relieved.
Pressure gauge is out of calibration.
Advance or retract fl ow restricted.
Low oil level.
Oil cooler fan not working.
Oil cooler heat exchanger covered with dirt or
clogged.
Action
Connect to correct power source per pump
nameplate.
Connect, repair, or replace cable.
See authorized service center.
Run pump for a few minutes while tipping it gently
from side to side.
Remove shipping plug and install breather per
Section 4.1.
Add oil per Section 4.2.
Adjust per Section 5.6.
Inspect and repair or replace parts as required.
Clean oil intake screen.
See authorized service center.
Use torque wrench with larger capacity.
Check couplers for full engagement per Section 4.4.
Check couplers for full engagement per Section 4.4.
Run motor when retracting.
See authorized service center.
Relieve pressure per Section 5.4.
Have pressure gauge re-calibrated by a qualifi ed
calibration facility.
Check couplers for full engagement per Section 4.4
Add oil per Section 4.2.
Check oil cooler fan for proper operation.
Remove any dirt from oil cooler fi ns and fan.
Check oil cooler tubing for clogs.
