Maintenance
Inspect and clean all parts, replace if necessary and
grease with special valve grease (ref. No. 18 012).
Shut off cold and hot water supplies.
I. Non-return valve, see Fig. [6].
1. Unscrew cap (P).
2. Unscrew and remove non-return valve (R) with strainer
housing (R1) by using a 10mm socket spanner.
II. Thermoelement, see Fig. [2] and [7].
1. Unscrew screw (C), pull off cap (D), unscrew screw (E)
and pull off thermostat knob (F).
2. Unscrew and remove adjusting nut (G), pull off stop
ring (H) complete with mixed water stop.
3. Lever out cover ring (J).
4. Unscrew and remove the six screws (S) with an 3mm
socket spanner
5. Press the thermoelement (T) out off the body by using
three screws. The screws must be screwed in the holes
of the flange from the thermoelement (T).
6. Unscrew and remove the three screws.
Readjustment is necessary after every maintenance
operation on the thermoelement (see Adjustment).
Reassemble in reverse order.
Replacement parts, see fold-out page I (* = special
accessories).
Installation fitting with loose key and shield,
see fold-out page III.
The cold water supply must be connected on the right and
the hot water supply on the left as viewed from the
operating position.
1. Lay pipe lines.
2. Prepare unions, refer to the dimensional drawing on
fold-out page I.
Grohe offers different union systems, take the ref. No.
from catalogue. A mixed water outlet elbow with
thermometer is recommended (ref. No. 12 444, 1½",
ref. No. 12 448, 2" ), see fold-out page III, Fig. [8].
3. Flush pipe lines thoroughly
4. Screw-mount the mixer and test unions for leaks.
Reversed installation (cold water on the left - hot on the
right), see fold-out page III, Fig. [8].
- Reverse cold and hot water positions by turning the
body of fitting.
- Reverse the cap (A) and mixed water outlet (B).
- Unscrew screw (U) and remove knob (V).
Lever out cover ring (J).
Take parts through 180° and reassemble.
Observe the correct installation position, see Fig. [8].
Adjustment
For temperature-adjustment, see Fig. [9].
• Before the mixer is put into service, if the mixed water
temperature measured at the point of discharge varies
from the specified temperature set on the thermostat.
• After any maintenance operation on the thermoelement.
On delivery the cap of socket wrench (W) and the stop
disk (X) are not assembled.
Open the point of discharge and read the temperature at
thermometer, see Fig. [9].
For support of temperature adjustement use the cap of
socket wrench (W).
- Insert cap of socket wrench (W) into the knob (V) until
resistance is encountered and turn with a 3mm socket
wrench until the water temperature reaches 40 °C.
- Remove cap of socket wrench (W).
- Insert stop disk (X), only one fitting position is possible.
- Insert cap of socket wrench (W) with the mark (Z)
pointing to the adjusted temperature and press down,
see Fig. [10].
Thermal desinfection, see Fig. [10].
- Turn the cap of socket wrench (W) with a 3mm socket
spanner to the hot water end-stop.
- Open point of discharge and let hot water of at
least 70 °C run for three minutes.
- Adjust the mark (Z) from the cap of socket wrench (W)
in desired mixed water temperature.
