Interference may occur in the environment where the equipment is used if particularly sensitive equipment is located
nearby. In such cases, the system manager is bound to implement measures to reduce or remove the interference.
EXPLOSIONS
•Never carry out welding work in the vicinity of containers under pressure, or in the presence of explosive dust,
gases or fumes.
Never carry out welding work on containers that have contained or contain fuels, oils or flammable substances.
All cylinders and pressure regulators used in welding operations should be handled with care.
FIRE
Never carry out welding work near flammable or explosive materials.
Always provide suitable fire extinguishers that are compliant with current regulations in the working area.
Check that the electrical connections on the main supply and on the welding workpiece are properly tightened to
prevent fire risks.
HAZARDOUS GASES AND VAPOURS
Welding operations produce fumes and gases that are harmful to health.
Work in spaces with sufficient aspiration and ventilation.
Only use air for ventilation.
Keep your head away from fumes and gases produced by welding.
Do not inhale gases and fumes produced by welding.

If ventilation is insufficient, use approved respirators.
Do not weld metals that are coated with or contain lead, graphite, cadmium, zinc, chrome, mercury and beryllium if
you do not have a suitable respirator.
Observe the instructions set out in the safety data sheets for the materials used and instructions issued by the manu-
facturer of the materials.
Do not weld metal surfaces if detergents, degreasers or similar products are present on the surfaces.
An electric arc generates ozone. Prolonged exposure in environments with high ozone concentrations can cause
headache, irritation of the nose, throat and eyes, severe congestion and chest pain.
When you have finished welding, close the valve of the inert gas cylinder used.
Make sure no inert gas is leaking from the cylinders. Inert gas is colourless and odourless. An environment saturated
with inert gas is devoid of oxygen, which causes asphyxiation of people in the environment.
WIRING DIAGRAMS
There is always a risk of electric shock because the welding electrode or welding wire is live.
An electric shock can cause serious injury or death.
Do not use the device without side panels and/or covers.
Do not touch electrical parts inside the device.
MECHANICAL HAZARDS
Keep hands, hair and clothing away from moving mechanical parts, such as wire feeder gears, wire coils and fans.
The welding wire emerging from the torch can cause extremely serious damage to eyes, face and body.
Do not deactivate or bypass the safety devices in the equipment.
POSITIONING
Position the unit on a solid, flat base. A maximum inclination of 10° is allowed. It may be extremely dangerous to
tip a device over.
Do not position the device near a wall. Maintain a distance of at least 50 cm all around the device to facilitate the
circulation of air used to cool it.
When using a transport trolley with cylinder holder, secure the inert gas cylinder firmly to the trolley using the ap-
propriate straps. Dropping a gas cylinder can be extremely dangerous.
If the wire feeder is used suspended by mechanical means, electrically isolate the timing from the mechanical means
of suspension.
