2.4
This instruction manual.
This instruction manual refers to Plasma Welding Automatic Console PW30, Item No 465.01 and has been prepared to
instruct staff in charge of installing, operating and maintaining the welding system.
It must be carefully stored in a place known to the various people involved, and consulted whenever clarification is re-
quired. It must be kept for the machine's entire operational life-span and used when ordering parts.
3
INSTALLATION.
It is essential to pay especially close attention to the chapter on SAFETY PRECAUTIONS in the instruction manual,
section 1.
The equipment must be installed by qualified personnel.
All connections must be carried out in compliance with current standards and in full observance of current safety laws.
3.1
Placement.
Plasma console PW30 Item No 465.01 does not work independently, but must be paired with a WIN TIG robot series
TIG power source.
This manual describes pairing with the WIN TIG DC 500/T power source (Item No 381.80), but operation is the same
for all WIN TIG robot range power sources.
The plasma console can be fitted above the power source using installation kit Item No 229.00 (optional). Assembly
instructions are included in the kit.
Position the power source in an area that ensures good stability and efficient ventilation. Prevent metal dust from ente-
ring through the power source grilles.
3.2
Plasma console set-up.
See figures 2, 4a and 4b for references.
Connect console (30) power source (21) and cooling unit (22) by means of extension (33). Connect the pipes of the
cooling circuit of extension (33) to the adapters of console (30) and cooling unit (22), matching the colours of the pipe
clamps with the adapter colours.
Connect console (30) to wire feeder (8) (if present) by means of connection cable (2).
Depending on the type of plasma torch used, connect the power cable of the torch to the H or G adapter and the contact
tip terminal to connector E or F of console (30).
Depending on the type of TIG-plasma torch used, connect cooling circuit pipes A, B, C and D of console (30), matching
the colours of the pipe clamps to the adapter colours.
CAUTION
The installer is responsible for checking that the size of the cooling system is appropriate for the torch. When using the
welding power source cooling unit (22), ensure that its cooling power and flow rates are compatible with the parameters
specified by the torch manufacturer: when they are not compatible, use an external unit (chiller), not supplied by Cebora.
Set the system dip switches so that the termination resistances are at the beginning and end of the communication bus
section: see TIG power source user manual code 3301062,
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the technical data plate. The protection fuses
must be sized according to the details shown on the technical data plate.
Finish connecting the other welding system devices, consulting the relevant instruction manuals in the section on "In-
stallation".
Connect the console to the supply socket.
Power up the welding system by means of the power source mains switch and switch M on the console.
