PRE-USE INSPECTION
Before each use, a person who is going to use the PPE, has to execute a close visual examination of all components, in order
to check if some mechanical, chemical or thermal defects are present. If some doubt arises about the good condition and the
right functioning of the PPE, it has to be withdrawn from use. Then the PPE must be sent to the device manufacturer or to his
certified representative to carry out a detailed inspection and the eventual repair.
USED AS A GUIDED DEVICE ACCORDING
TO EN 353-2
1)Attach the upper end of the rope to the
structural anchoring point, using an EN 362
certified connector.
Open the device, by turning the front part.
Make a safety knot in the other loose end of
the rope.
2)Feed the rope through the device.
3)Close the device.
The arrow marked on the device must point
upwards, towards the anchoring point.
4)Connect the device to the hoisting tackle
attachment point, using a Class B certified
connector.
5)Block the device on the rope, by moving the
blocking lever.

a) Connecting to the anchor point:
The fall arrester must be connected to an anchor device complying with EN 795 standard or to a structural fixed element, using
a connector complying with EN 362. The anchor point should be situated above the workplace and it must have a min. static
resistance of 10 kN. The shape of the anchor point should not let self-acting disconnection of the device.
b) Connecting to the full body harness:
- The device must be connected only to the sternal attaching rings or to the dorsal one of the full
body harness. The attachment point must be marked with the letter "A". Fig. B.
- It is strictly forbidden to connect the fall arrester to the positioning belt rings.
- It is forbidden to add any additional element between the snap hook and the attaching point
of the full body harness.
ATTENTION: In order to avoid any accidental opening of the snap hook, always check that the
gate is protected with the locking gear. Make sure the loose end of the rope has a safety knot
in it so that it cannot slip out of the device.
c) Working place requirements:
It is obligatory to verify the free space required beneath the user's workplace before each use of
the PPE against falls, in order to avoid the impact with objects or with a beneath surface during
the fall arrest process.
Free distance below the working surface depends on the length of the working rope over the
worker (Fig. C). See the table:
f
Length of the rope over the
worker (m) - L
Free distance below the
working surface (m) – X
During horizontal moving of the worker, the working rope deflection from the vertical line up to
45° is allowed. See Fig. D.

USED AS A WORK POSITIONING SYSTEM AND AS A HOLDING DEVICE ACCORDING TO EN 358
1)Connect two EN 362 Class B certified connectors to the up-
per end of the rope and to the hole of the device. The arrow
marked on the device must point upwards, towards the an-
choring point.
2)Attach the connector of the device to one of the side rings of

the positioning belt. Wind the rope of the device around the
structural element. Attach the connector of the rope to the
second side ring of the positioning belt.
Otherwise:
3)Attach the connector of the device to the ventral attachment
point of the sit harness or to one of the rings of the position-
ing belt. Attach the rope connector to the structural anchoring
point.
The EVOSTOP device used as a work positioning and restraint
system must be used with a positioning belt pursuant to standard EN 358 or a sit safety harness pursuant to standard EN 813.
The structural element or the anchoring point, to which the device is attached, must be shaped in such a way so that the rope
cannot come unhooked accidentally. The tension and the length of the rope should be regulated so that the free falling space
is reduced to 0.6 m at the most.
Once the length of the rope has been regulated, block the device on the rope using the blocking lever. Fig. A.
To connect the device, use a Class B connector pursuant to standard EN 362. To prevent the snap hook from opening ac-
e
cidentally, always make sure the safety closure is protected by the blocking mechanism. It is forbidden to attach any additional

The device used as an access system on rope bears the
device
whole weight of the user and thus becomes a working rope.
EN 353-2
For reasons of safety, a guided fall arresting device must be
added. Fig. E.
Any overload or a dynamic load on the pressure mechanism
could damage the rope.
To release the device on the rope, move the blocking lever
towards the rope.
Attach the connector in the release hole and pull towards the
loose end of the rope. Fig. F.
