4. MOVING THE MACHINE This equipment is fitted with castors to make it easier to move. Take care when moving the equipment on an inclined floor. Ensure that the feet are raised clear of the floor before moving and re-lowered when the equipment is in it’s new position.

Sensor Adjustment It is essential that the sensors that detect the movement of the sword are operating correctly before this game is played. 5-5-2 Testing Sensor Sensitivity The following describes the method of testing the sensitivity of the four sensors. Be sure to adjust the sensors so that the test results show “OK” for all four sensors. (see 5-5-3 page 40 for sensor adjustments.) Note: If there is any obstruction within the sensor area, it will create a shadow and prevent correct sensitivity testing.
5-5-3 Adjusting the Sensors Sensor adjustment is performed while power to the machine is ON. To prevent electric shock, accident or injury, do not touch any parts other than those specified in the following sections. The Frame assembly is an important part in the correct function of the sensors. Please check that each part of the Frame assembly is fitted correctly and that the reflective material on the inside of the Frame assembly is clean and smooth (no cracks or bubbles).

SENSOR The horizontal axis of the graph shows the portion of the Frame Assembly that the sensor has detected. The green portion of the graph is the active area that the game uses during game mode, and the grey area is ignored by the game. The vertical axis of the graph represents the photo acceptance of the sensor.

Adjustment Switches The Adjustment switches are located inside the coin door. Service Switch. Press this switch to obtain game credits without incrementing the play meter. Test Switch Slide the test switch ON to enter test mode. Test mode allows testing and the changing of game settings. (Refer to section 6-2 "Test Mode"...
Test Mode Open the coin door and slide the test switch “ON”. The “Menu Screen” will be displayed on the monitor. Select the test required by using the select up/down switch. The colour of the selected test will change. Activate the test by pressing the Enter switch. Select “EXIT” in each test to return to the “Menu Screen”.

6-2-3-4 Sword Adjustment This item checks the sword alignment. This check should only be performed when the sword position is found to be incorrect during the “SWORD TEST” (see 6-2-3-3 page 52) and no problem is detected in the “SENSOR LEVEL CHECK”. 6-2-3-6 Lamp Test This item checks the operation of the Start button lamp. Select “LAMP TEST” from the I/O menu screen. The following screen is displayed. Self Test This machine performs a self-test routine (self-test and sensor initialization) automatically each time the power switch is turned on, or exiting the SENSOR LEVEL CHECK screen in the test mode. When the game is functioning correctly, the following screen is displayed after a short period of time.

7-10 Replacing the Sword Cut the rope of the old sword from the hook. By referring to the diagram below, tie the rope of the new sword to the hoop securely As shown below, attach the rope with a bowline knot. Make a loop as shown below, and pass the free end of the rope through the loop.
7-11 Replacing the Sword Blade Remove the Sword Assy. (see 7-10 page 76) Hold the blade with one hand, and turn the grio anticlockwise to remove. Grip Blade Reassemble in reverse order. Note: Insert the blade all the way until it contacts the sword guard. If the blade is difficult to fit, apply a small amount of diluted detergent as a lubricant.
