CAUTTION
Correct measurement of idle speed is only possible if the engine is fully heated. If it is not
fully heated, the idle will be above normal. If you have difficulty checking the speed, or the idle
speed requires adjustment, contact your authorized TOYAMA dealer.
WIRING VERIFICATION AND CONNECTORS
Check that each grounding wire is properly secured and that each connector is securely
connected.
CHECK FOR LEAKS
Check that there are no leaks or water leaks in the junctions between the exhaust cover, cylinder
head and cylinder body.
Check for leaks around the engine.
CHECKING THE PROPELLER
ATTENTION:
You can get seriously injured if the engine accidentally turns on when you are moving the
propeller or very close to it.
Before inspecting, removing or installing the propeller, remove the spark plug cap, set the
gear to Neutral (N), the main switch to OFF, and remove the key. Also, remove the emergency
stop cable from the emergency button and disconnect the battery
Do not use your hands to hold the propeller if you lose the propeller fixing screw. Place a
piece of wood between the anti-cavitation plate and the propeller as a way to prevent it from
rotating.
1. Check each propeller blade for wear, erosion of cavitation or ventilation, and / or other
damage.
2. Check for damage to the propeller shaft.
3. Check the locking pin.
4. Check for fishing line attached around the propeller shaft.
5. Check for damage to the propeller shaft seal.
