Maintenance work on
the wheel drive
The gears run in a closed oil
sump and are maintenance-free.
The wheel drive clutch cable can
be readjusted if the clutch acti-
vates too late or if it should slip.
To readjust, turn the adjusting
wheel (fig. K, pos. 1) clockwise
when seen from the operator's
side. To loosen it, turn the adjust-
ing wheel anti-clockwise when
seen from the operator's side.
Care
The easiest way to remove dirt
and grass cuttings is directly
after mowing. Clean your lawn-
mower with a brush and cloth.
Always keep the ventilation slits
(fig. A, pos. 9) free from soiling.
If necessary, remove any cut
grass from the ventilation slits.
Storage
Warning! Allow the engine
A
to cool off for at least
15 minutes before you carry the
appliance and deposit the lawn-
mower in concealed spaces.
Never store the lawnmower in
a building in which it is possible
that petrol vapours can come
into contact with a naked flame
or with sparks if there is petrol
in the tank.
Warning! If the appliance
A
is in the parking position
for or maintained properly.
The following table contains
the most common faults and
remedies to eliminate these
(fig. H), the tank cap valve
(fig. J, pos. 18) must be closed.
For safety reasons, the tank is
only to be 50 % full when stored
outside confined spaces.
The tank must be completely
empty when stored in confined
spaces.
Warning! Ensure that the
A
oil dip-stick is firmly
screwed in position as oil could
otherwise leak out.
To save space and cleaning, you
can store the appliance as shown
in fig. H. To do so, loosen the
tensioned jointed handles (fig. A,
pos. 1) somewhat until you can
release the guide bar; fold the
guide bar forwards with the
retaining bar (fig. A1, pos. 7).
Warning! Make sure that
A
you do not trap the Bowden
cables when folding and unfold-
ing the lawnmower handle.
Notes on Storage (Wintering)
If you are planning to store your
motor longer than 30 days,
empty the tank outdoors before
storing and soak up the remain-
ing petrol with a lint-free cloth.
Then allow the motor to run until
it stops due to a lack of fuel.
Unscrew the spark plug, pour
1 tablespoon of motor oil into
the cylinder. Turn the motor by
slowly pulling the starter handle
so that the oil is distributed then
screw the spark plug back in.
When you have removed dirt and
mowing residue we recommend
that you clean your lawnmower
with a preservative product.
