III. 3. Adjusting OSIRIS 2
Choice of ventilation mode
The mode selector allows OSIRIS 1 en to be started up
and for the ventilation mode most suited to the patient's
needs to be selected: VC-VAC 100% O
Air + O
When changing from the VS-AI/PS mode to VAC/ACMV
Air + O
setting may be critical. A screen message "Adjust VT ?" will
appear, plus an alarm. If an adjustment is not made within
7 seconds insufflation restarts with the displayed value of
the previous setting.

A standard tidal volume is fed into the patient circuit on
each inspiratory effort of the patient helped by a constant
flowrate.

If there is no patient activity, the equipment ventilates
automatically on set parameters (F mini, etc.).
Because the unit works with a "venturi" system,
the FiO

As soon as the patient triggers a respiratory cycle, the
« SPONT CYCLE» message is briefly displayed.
Setting the frequency
Frequency is set by turning the graduated knob
Frequency can be set from 6 to 40 cycles/min.
This setting directly affects the V
patient. It is therefore necessary to reset the V
respiratory frequency setting, using the inspiratory flowrate
setting knob

The value of the VT parameter is displayed in the lower
part of the OSIRIS 2 screen.
When we switch from 100 % O

screen is slightly modified.
