Dispose of cartridge filters, fleece filter bags
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
or waste disposal sacks in compliance with
applicable national requirements.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
Any contaminated components that cannot be
satisfactorily cleaned during service and mainte-
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
nance must be disposed of in impermeable waste
disposal sacks and in compliance with the national
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
requirements for the disposal of such waste.
Service, maintenance and repair tasks should
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
only be carried out to the extend feasible without
endangering the user or the service personnel.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
Use suitable PPE for all cleaning maintenance and
service tasks for your own protection.

6.2 Container evacuation when wet vacuuming
The waste container must be emptied regularly
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
when wet vacuuming. The container must be
emptied when vacuum performance decreases
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
or latest when the max. permissible container
fill level (inside the container max. fill level as
described in Chapter 3) is reached. Suction flow
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
will be interrupted by a ball cock float inside the
suction channel when the max. permissible waste
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
water level is reached.
There will be no fleece filter bag inside the
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
device during wet vacuuming.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
Empty the container as follows:
• Switch off the device by its main switch and then
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
disconnect the device power plug from mains
electricity.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
• Open the lateral container caps between the
container and suction head (see page *7* – Il-
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
lustration 5a.).
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
• Then lift the complete suction head up and off.
• The contents of the container can now be evacu-
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
ated: in devices with 20 l container volume (VCL
320) the container can be poured out over the rim
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
of the waste container or scooped out. In devices
with 30 l container volume (VCL 330), we recom-
mend using the container cap in the lower area on
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
the front of the waste container.

Caution! Please comply with the local
requirements for waste water handling.
The waste container must be evacuated after each
operation and before any storage of the device
for an extended period of time. The interior of the
container must be wiped clean with a moist cloth.
The assembly is done in reverse order. The exactly
positioned suction head is placed over the lateral
container clips and locked tightly with the waste
container (see page *7* – Illustrations 6a. and 6b.).
6.3 Fleece filter bag replacement when dry
vacuuming (see page *7*)
The fleece filter bag must be replaced regularly.
Change the fleece filter bag once the vacuum per-
formance decreases or if the device has not been
used for an extended period of time.
• Switch off the device by its main switch and then
disconnect the device power plug from mains
electricity.
• Open the lateral container clips between the
container and suction head.
• Then lift the complete suction head up and off.
To remove the fleece filter bag, e.g. for a replace-
ment or before commencing wet vacuuming,
simply pull it off the inside of the suction hose con-
nection. Now seal the fleece filter bag by folding
in the locking tab on the cardboard collar of the
fleece filter bag (Illustrations 8a.–8c.). Now remove
the fleece filter bag from the waste container for
disposal.
Caution! Please note the regulatory require-
ments for the disposal of fleece filter bags.
Please use an appropriate waste disposal sack for
the disposal of the fleece filter bag.
Position a replacement fleece filter bag into the
container so that it forms an arch. The cardboard
sleeve will be at the upper edge of the fleece filter
bag and the locking tab on the cardboard sleeve
faces downward. Pull the cardboard collar with the
sealing lip over the inside of the suction hose until
the sealing lip clicks into place in the ring groove.
The exactly positioned suction head is then placed
over the lateral container clips and locked tightly
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
with the waste container. The cartridge filter will
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
be in the middle of the container and will be radi-
ally enclosed by the fleece filter bag.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
An unused fleece filter bag can be stored for
five to seven years in dry conditions.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
6.4 Replacing the cartridge filter
(see page *9*)
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
We recommend replacing the cartridge filter
after ten replacements of the fleece filter
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
bag, if the device has not been used for a year, or if
the cartridge filter is very dirty.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
Switch off the device by its main switch and then
disconnect the device power plug from mains
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
electricity.
• Open the lateral container clips between the
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
container and suction head.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
• Then lift the complete suction head up and off.
Now rotate the filter cap on the cartridge filter by
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
around 45° in anti-clockwise direction. You can
then remove the clip and cartridge filter together.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
Then pull the cartridge filter axially off the filter cap.
Reconnect the filter cap and the new cartridge
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
filter in reverse order and then add the suction
head. The exactly positioned suction head is then
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
placed over the lateral container clips and locked
tightly with the waste container. The cartridge
filter will be in the middle of the container and will
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
be radially enclosed by the fleece filter bag.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
Caution! Please note the regulatory require-
ments for the disposal of cartridge filters.
Please use an appropriate waste disposal sack for
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
the disposal of the cartridge filter.
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
WARNING – Once removed from the
machine, the cartridge filter and its pleats
can also be cleaned with a gentle rinse. Replace
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
the filter if this measure is unsuccessful.
WARNING – Due to the dangers posed by
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
health-hazardous dust types, all persons in
the service and maintenance area must wear
MENZER MENZER MENZER MENZER
personal protection equipment. Wear protective
goggles and a protective mask (min. P2 respiratory
mask)!

6.5 Semi-automatic 'Filter Refresh' filter clean-
ing (see page *10* – Illustration 13a.)
The vacuum performance decreases with
increasing fill levels of the container. We
recommend activating the 'Filter Refresh' function
in order to maintain vacuum performance for
longer or in case of partial suction loss.
The semi-automatic 'Filter Refresh' filter clean-
ing will function only with the vacuum cleaner
switched on. Pressing the button will release a
blast of air to clean the filter. Press the button at
least 3 times.
You can counteract heavy soiling by holding the
hose connector or the hose end closed manually
while simultaneously pressing the semi-automatic
'Filter Refresh" button 3 times for 10 seconds each.
