We recommend to slightly increase the ignition advance setting it
to 1÷1.2 mm before TDC modifying the stator as indicated in Fig.1.
To re-establish the thermal balance it is necessary to fi t a spark plug
of the NGK B9ES / BR9ES type, or other ones with the same thermal
degree.
Relying on a trusted mechanic to adjust the carburation to the new
thermal unit.
With this modifi cation the ignition advance is increased from 14° (0.7 mm
before TDC) to 17° (1.1 mm before TDC). This will increase the power
on the whole curve. The downside is that the overspeed will be more
limited.
PREPARATION FOR ASSEMBLY
1) Thoroughly clean the area of the vehicle where the operation will
be performed.
2) Remove the head, cylinder, piston from the engine.
3) Thoroughly clean the cylinder rest surface on the crankcase.
4) Wash all kit components, in particular the cylinder, paying attention
that no impurities are present inside the channels.
5) Check that the connecting rod is in good working conditions.
