6 Adjusting the 13E68 (round) or 13E125 (rectangle) electrodes
The best possible function of the Digital Twin Greifer is achieved through optimal adjustment of
the electrodes. This is easily possible using the 757M11=X-CHANGE MyoBoy together with the
757P23 Test Adapter
6.1 Procedure with digital mode (Dual Site) (with function plug)
(For detailed information on the procedure, refer to MyoBoy Instructions for Use)
Select the Electric Greifer with digital control (dual site) in the MyoSoft program. Adjust each
electrode so that the patient can maintain the corresponding muscle signal for approximately two
seconds at a point slightly above the value ON (fig. 5).
6.2 Procedure with double channel mode (Single Site) (without function plug)
(For detailed information on the procedure, refer to MyoBoy Instructions for Use)
Select the Electric Greifer with double channel control (single site) in the MyoSoft program. Adjust
the slider on the scale to 3.5. Dial 2 on the electronic relay switch (fig. 3) is already set to the
corresponding value when delivered: The marks on dial 2 and on the housing of the electronic
relay are identical.
Adjust the electrode so that the muscle signal reaches a value just below the threshold marked
in MyoSoft by the broken line at 3.5 (fig. 6): The Greifer closes.
Overcome the threshold with a quick, strong muscle signal to open the Greifer
If the muscle signal is too slow or too weak, adjust the threshold using Dial 2 (fig. 3):
Attention:
Allow the patient to rest during training to avoid fatigue and potentially incorrect electrode
settings (i.e. excess sensitivity).
Please take care to place the electrodes so that the entire contact surfaces lie directly on intact
skin. If strong interference by electrical appliances still occurs, please check the positioning of
the electrode and – if need be – reposition them If the interference cannot be eliminated, please
contact an Ottobock Service Facility.
7 Battery management
Use only fully charged batteries to operate the System Electric Greifer with Digital Twin Control.
An intelligent "battery manager" alerts the patient when the voltage is low: The System Electric
Greifer will become slower and the gripping force will decrease. At the same time the battery is
protected against harmful total discharge
The Digital Twin Control can be operated with the 757B15 Ottobock X-ChangePack or with the
757B20/757B21 EnergyPack (Li-Ion technology). For more detailed instructions regarding the
EnergyPacks, please refer to the information provided with the EnergyPack.
Attention:
As soon as the Digital Twin Control recognizes that a fully charged 757B20 or 757B21 En-
ergyPack has been connected, it automatically switches to a special mode optimized for this
state-of-the-art battery technology. Once this has happened, only EnergyPacks should be used.
If a 757B15 Interchangeable Battery is used after the control has automatically switched to
the new battery technology. If the user wishes to return to using Interchangeable Batteries, the
control may be reset to the factory default for use with this type of batteries at an Ottobock
service facility.
