1b) Teaching a room control unit to additional heating zones
Perform the following steps to pair an already paired room control unit with additional heating zones.
Start the pairing process on the base station and select the desired heating zone(s), see 1a), steps 1 to 4.
1. Press and hold the rotary pushbutton of the desired room control unit: Set PAIr is displayed
2. Briefly press the rotary pushbutton of the room control unit: PAI Join is displayed
3. Press the Pairing [B] button on the base station briefly to complete the process: Pai done is displayed.
4. Briefly press the rotary pushbutton of the room control unit to end the pairing process
Unpairing room control unit from paired heating zones – Cancel pairing
Long press means pressing >3 sec / Short press means pressing <1 sec
ü To disconnect the room control units, perform the pairing steps using the [A] and [B] keys in opposite.
1. Press and hold the button Clear [A] to start decoupling: The LED Clear and all coupled heating zones flash slowly
2. Press the button Clear [A] briefly and repeatedly until the desired heating zone(s) is/are selected.
ð Note: A room control unit is always decoupled from all heating zones with which it is paired. In order to be able to
use the room control unit again on another heating zone after decoupling, the pairing process must be performed
again for the desired heating zone.
ð All LED/s of the heating zone/s that are paired with the respective room control unit flash quickly.
3. Press and hold the button Clear [A] in order to decouple the room control unit.
ð The decoupled room control unit restarts. Afterwards, the pairing is canceled and the LED of the selected heating
zone(s) is off.
ð If a room control unit is not successfully logged out, the LEDs Error and Clear will flash quickly for 5 seconds.
In cloud-based operation, a factory reset has no effect on the logout of the room control units in the Alpha Smart
App. The devices must be deleted manually in the Alpha Smart App.
Alpha Smart App
In order to use the device within an Alpha Smart Cloud, it is necessary to use the Alpha Smart App
(download via QR code).
6.1 Registering the device
Alpha Smartware devices are connected in a system. To integrate new devices into this system, they must first be registered
in the Alpha Smart Cloud.
ü A user account is created in the Alpha Smart App.
1. Start the Alpha Smart App on the end device.
2. In the menu select the item devices.
3. Press (+) to add a device.
4. Scan the QR code or select a device manually.
5. Follow the instructions in the Alpha Smart App in order to add more devices.
