WS/WE34-B43S01: preset to dark switching
The Troubleshooting table indicates measures to be taken if the sensor stops working.
Table 9: Troubleshooting
LED/fault pattern
Yellow LED does not light up
even though the light beam
is aligned to the receiver and
there is no object in the path of
the beam
No object in beam path, no out‐
put signal
Yellow LED flashes; if Alarm is
present then take note of the
corresponding output signal
Yellow LED lights up, no object
in the path of the beam
The sensor must be disposed of in line with applicable country-specific regulations.
When disposing of them, you should try to recycle them (especially the precious met‐
als).
Cause
No voltage or voltage below
the limit values
Voltage interruptions
Sensor is faulty
Test input (Test) is not con‐
nected properly
Sensor is still ready for oper‐
ation, but the operating condi‐
tions are not ideal
The beam of light of a pho‐
toelectric through-beam sen‐
sor hits the receiver of
another (neighboring) photo‐
electric through-beam sensor
Measures
Check the power supply,
check all electrical connec‐
tions (cables and plug connec‐
tions)
Ensure there is a stable power
supply without interruptions
If the power supply is OK,
replace the sensor
Check connection of the test
input. When using female
cable connectors with LED
indicators, make sure the test
input is assigned correspond‐
ingly.
Check operating conditions:
align light beam (light stop)
completely on the receiver/
cleaning of optical surfa‐
ces /if potentiometer is set
to max. sensitivity: reduce dis‐
tance between sender and
receiver /Check sensing range
and adjust if necessary.
Swap the sender and receiver
arrangement at every sec‐
ond through-beam photoelec‐
tric sensor and ensure that
there is sufficient distance
between the through-beam
photoelectric sensors.
