Operation
You can select a function, choose a range, and turn the digital pot for the precise output. The
pot is speed sensitive—turning it faster produces a faster change in the output. Plus, you can
store three output values per range in memory for instant recall with the toggle switch.
General Operation
1.
Set the Selector knob to the proper setting.
2.
Press the SOURCE/READ button to select the function.
3.
See Using the IPM-400 as a Source, Using the IPM-400 to Read, or Using the IPM-400 to
Source and Read for specific instructions.
4.
Test the meter on a known functioning circuit or component.
• If the meter does not function as expected on a known functioning circuit, replace the
batteries and/or fuses.
• If the meter still does not function as expected, send the meter to Greenlee for repair.
Returning to the Default Settings
The thermocouple and RTD ranges may be configured so that they always read °C, °F, or are
selectable °C and °F. The meter defaults to turn off automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity.
You can disable this feature. You can return the meter to its defaults by following the steps
below. Whether or not you change the temperature units or auto-off while following these
steps, the meter automatically resets the signal source to the defaults in the Signal Source
Defaults table on the next page.
1.
Press and hold the STORE/RESET button while turning the meter on.
2.
When "SETTING UP DEFAULT" appears, release the STORE/RESET button. After about
5 seconds, the "°F/°C SET UP" menu appears with an arrow pointing to the first choice.
To allow the meter to automatically restore all defaults, do nothing else and allow it to
complete the set up. Otherwise, continue with the next steps.
3.
To change the temperature engineering units, immediately turn the digital pot to select
"°F & °C", "°F ONLY", or "°C ONLY". In about 5 seconds, the "AUTO-OFF SET UP" menu
appears.
4.
To set the meter so that auto-off is disabled, immediately turn the digital pot to select
"DISABLED". After 5 seconds, the IPM-400 automatically stores your choices and returns
to normal operation.
