Calibrate Transmitters
Display: Any Source function and Read mA, mA%, DP%
This function supplies the input signal to a four-wire transmitter and displays the 4 mA to
20 mA output of the transmitter.
Display: Any Source function and P-XMTR mA, mA%, DP%
This function simultaneously supplies power to a two-wire transmitter while supplying the
input signal to the transmitter and displays the 4 mA to 20 mA output of the transmitter.
1.
Turn the Selector knob to set the output of the meter to match the input of the transmitter
(T/C, RTD, FREQ, etc.).
2.
Select the proper type, range, and temperature scale if applicable.
3.
Press the DISPLAY/SOURCE/READ button until "SOURCE" and "READ" or "SOURCE" and
"P-XMTR" appear.
4.
Press the READ/POWER TRANSMITTER button to toggle between reading milliamps and
supplying voltage to power the transmitter.
5.
Disconnect the signal input and current output wires from the transmitter to be calibrated.
6.
Connect the red lead of the meter to the plus (+) current terminal of the device, and the
black lead to the minus (–) current terminal.
7.
Connect the signal output of the meter to the signal input of the transmitter, as shown.
Calibrate the transmitter in the usual manner.
8.
Use the toggle switch to view the maximum and minimum values.
