Sterilization by autoclaving is recommended.
Sterilization required after each patient use as noted below.
•
Autoclaving procedure
1. Brush off dirt and wipe clean with alcohol-soaked cloth or paper
towel. Do not use a wire brush.
2. Remove reduction sheath from the motor and lubricate. Refer to
Section 3. Lubrication.
3. Insert into a sterilization bag and seal it.
4. Autoclavable up to a max. 135˚C. ex.) Autoclave for 20 min. at 121˚C,
or 15 min. at 132˚C.
5. Keep the handpiece in the autoclave pouch to keep it clean until
next use.
* Sterilization at 121˚C for more than 15 minutes is recommended by
EN13060 or EN ISO17665-1.
* Performing sterilization according to these instructions has minimal
effect on the instrument. Life span is generally determined by wear and
damage due to use.
Cautions on Sterilization
•
Skip dry cycle.
•
Heating the unit at the bottom of the chamber, may exceed the set value
of the unit.
•
Place the handpiece on the central or upper tray.
•
Do not autoclave the handpiece, when it is bagged together with other
instruments. This helps avoid discoloration and/or damage the plating of
the handpiece.
