Periodic examination
Ensure the selector switch is in Rescuer Mode.
Place the maximum permissible dead weight
(400 lbs / 181 kg) directly under the Tripod.
Lower the cable end till the connector on the tension
meter reaches the sling. Ensure you maintain tension
on the cable with your hand while lowering. Once
connected to the dead mass zero the scale if not
already done so. Ensure connection is secure.
Raise the weight using the Rescuer 1 m from the
WARNING
• When a test load is needed to
allow inspection of any winch
function, do not use personnel
as a load.
• Make sure the area below the
winch is free and clear of any
obstructions.
• Keep all body parts clear of the
suspended load and the area
underneath the suspended load.
Failure to follow this warning can
result in serious personal injury
or death.
Performance Test Rescuer Mode
Hold in position for a minimum of 2 minutes. At this
time, you could take a still image displaying the
weight lifted and held. Also duration held if required.
Lower the weight returning to the surface.
If at any time during the test slippage occurs the test
has failed, and the Rescuer will require to be tagged
unserviceable withdrawn from service until repaired
surface.
In order not to deploy the load
indicator on the snap hook, use
a karabiner to connect to the
tension meter being used.
