3. Magnification Lens: For small applications or for employees that require corrective lenses where magnification is necessary, the ADF may
incorporate a 1.5x, 2.0x, 2.5x or 3.0x magnification lens. To add a lens to the ADF remove the ADF from the welding helmet outer welding shield
and remove the ADF outer protection plate (see "Inspection & Maintenance", #5 "Welding Filter"). To install a magnification lens:
a. Choose the appropriate lens and insert it into the lens holder (Fig. 27a).
b. Set the lens holder onto the front of the ADF (Fig. 27b).
c. Reattach the ADF outer protection plate to hold the lens assembly in place and place the ADF back in the outer welding shield (see "Inspection
& Maintenance", #5d "Welding Filter") (Fig. 27c).
4. Head Cover – Standard, Large, High-Visibility and Leather: An added head cover may be installed on the welding helmet – either a
standard fabric, large fabric, high visibility fabric or leather head cover. All fabric is made from FR (flame resistant) material. The large fabric
head cover, in combination with the G5-01 Large Neck Shroud allows the G5-01 Welding Helmet to be used as a 1000x APF welding helmet.
To attach the head covers:
a. Bend the plastic edge of the head cover in the shape of the welding helmet and slide the cut outs at each side into the slots near the ears on
each side of the welding helmet.
b. There are two clips located at the crown of the head cover. Insert them into the clips on inside of the welding helmet. An audible "click" will
indicate they are in place (Fig. 28a)
