Sweatband: The forehead sweatband (46-0200-54) may be hand washed or laundered with a solution of soapy water.
Faceseal: The fabric faceseal is made of a flame-resistant material. Use of a mild soapy solution of warm water and air drying is recommended
when laundering. There is a 5-wash maximum on the flame-resistant material, exceeding this wash limit may result in a loss of flame resistant
properties.
Breathing Tubes: The SG-30W, SG-30WL and SG-40W breathing tubes may be wiped down with warm soapy water. If liquid enters the breathing
tube, thoroughly dry the tube before storage or reuse by forcing air through the tube for several minutes with the tube hanging vertically.
NOTE: The SG-50W breathing tube contains a foam muffler material inside. It is recommended to NOT allow water to enter the inside of the
breathing tube during the cleaning process.
Welding Filter: Use a soft cloth to wipe down the entire surface of the passive welding filter or ADF. A mild general-purpose cleaner may be lightly
sprayed on a soft cloth if additional cleansing is needed, however do not spray cleaning materials directly on the ADF.

Table 7. Troubleshoot Conditions and Solutions
Possible Solution
Check that PAPR unit is powered ON or SA line is correctly pressurized.
Check for kinks in airduct tube, breathing tube or SA airline.
Adjust air flow away from face (right side), toward facepiece OR adjust airflow to jawline
(left side), away from the forehead.
Tighten the PARKING (left side) stop point or tighten the FRICTION (right side) setting of the
welding helmet.
Make sure the battery is properly installed.
Make sure the correct battery is being used (CR2450).
Replace the battery.
Remove the protective film from both sides (if applicable) of the outside protection plate.
Verify that the 4 sensors on the front of the ADF are not blocked by weld spatter, hands,
pipes, objects being welded, etc.
Review the sensitivity adjustment instructions and select the appropriate setting for your
type of welding process.
The ADF shade is in LOCKED mode. Simultaneously press the SHADE – and + buttons to
come out of LOCKED mode.
Reduce the sensitivity setting. If this is still occurring at setting 1, use curtains or other
methods to block light from other welder's arcs.
Check surrounding area for process or safety strobe lights. Strobe lights can trigger ADFs
from a long distance or by reflecting off ceilings, walls or polished objects. Reflected light
from strobes not visible to the eye may be strong enough to trigger the ADF.
Remove the protective film from both sides (if applicable) of both the inner and outside
protection plates.
ADF is permanently damaged and not covered by warranty if protection plates were not
used. Always use outside and inside protection plates.
