6 Description and function
6.1 Description of the unit
The sewage lifting unit Liftson L (Fig. 1) is a fully submersible sewage lifting unit ready for
connection (flooding height: 2 mWS, flooding time: 7 days) with a collection tank that is
impermeable to gas and water and that is equipped with a buoyancy safeguard.
It is equipped with three-phase current pumps (3~400 V) and clogging-free vortex impel-
lers. A switchgear with main switch, built-in motor protection, optical rotation direction
monitoring, on/off switch and automatic/manual/acknowledgement switch provides
automatic operation.
Due to the special tank geometry, settling sediments are also fed to the pump so that
deposits in the tank are prevented.
Inlets can be connected on three sides and on the top of the container in various nominal
diameters. Connecting pieces on the top of the container allow the connection of tubes in
DN 50 and DN 70 for more inlets and bleeding (see section "Connecting the pipes"). An
inspection opening makes easy maintenance of the system possible.
On the sides of the collection reservoirs fastening straps (simultaneously transport carry-
ing handles) are provided, to which the system can be anchored to the floor by means of
the included fastening elements so that they are anti-buoyant and cannot twist. The
included sound absorption strips to be attached to the bottom of the tank prevent struc-
ture-borne noise transmission.
The double-pump system is equipped with a base-load pump and a peak-load pump.
