7.3.4 Emergency drain connection (diaphragm hand pump)
Fundamentally, it is recommended to install a diaphragm hand pump (accessory) for drain-
ing the tank in an emergency. For this, four connecting pieces ∅ 50 mm are available near
the floor. The connection is made using the included hose section DN 50.
7.3.5 Drainage of cellars
To automatically drain the installation area of faeces lifting units, a pump sump is to be put
in place in accordance with EN 12056-4 (Fig. 10).
• Design pump (item 10) according to the delivery head of the unit. The dimensions of the
pit in the floor of the installation area should be at least 500 x 500 x 500 mm.
• By switching, a 3-way cock (item 11, accessories) allows both the tank to be manually
drained as well as the pump sump using a diaphragm hand pump (Pos. 12).
