the
controls facilites the

this

you
should still read
these instructions carefully

Tampering with the
unit by
unau-
thorized persons will result
in
the
cancellation
of
the
warranty.
Setting up
Heat
created during
the
opera-
tion
of
the unit must
be
ableto
escape.
When
setting
up,
be
sure
to
leave
enough room
around the
unit for the heat
to be
dissipated.
Heat
accumulation
causes
the
failure
of
electronic compo-
nents!
Do not
blockthe
ventilation ho-
les/slits with newspapers
or
any
type
of
cloth covering. Also av-
oid
exposing
unit
to direct heat
from radiators
or
sunlight.

The
unit
is
designed
for22OY/50
Hz
alternating current. Power
is
supplied
by
connecting
the
pow-
er
connector cable, included
with
the
accessories,
to
socket
15.
AFconnection

The CD player
is
connected
to
the
amplifier (CD/tape socket) by
theAF
cable included
in
the
accessories. This
is
connected
to
sockets
14
"OUTPUT".
Please
seeyourauthorized
dealer
if
an
adapter cable
is
necessary
for
connection
to the ampl

ier.

your stereo system to
play
from
the CD
player.
Note:
When
your stereo system
is
operating
in
VHF
(FM)
mode,
use

switch
off CD
player.
lnserting and
removing discs
When you
switch
on
the
unit,
two
veftical
lines
appear
on
the
dis-
play
unit.
When button
13
"OPEN/
CLOSE"
is
pressed, the dlsc
slot
extends
so
that discs can be
inseded
or
removed.
The
disc
must
be
inserted
into the
slot
with the
label up.
When
button
13
"OPEN/
CLOSE"
iS
pressed
orthe
disc
slot
is
pressed
very
lightly
in,
the
disc slot retracts
again.
Playing the entire
disc
Afterthe
disc
has been
insefted
and the
disc slot
has
retracted,
the CD
system
scans the
con-
tents
of
the
disc.
Following this,
the
numberof
tracks
on
the CD
appears
in
the
display under "TRACK"
and
the
total
playing
time
of
the CD
appears under "MIN/SEC".
Press
button

"PLAY/PAUSE'
to
start
the
disc playing. While
the
disc
is
playing,
the
number
and playing
time
of
the
track
being played appears
in
the
dis-
play
unit.
When
alltracks
on
the CD
have
been
played,
the
number
"0"
appears
on
the
display unit
under "TRACK".
Note:
-
lt
is
normal
thatthe numberof
the
lrack to
be
played
f
lashes
for
a
short
time
in
the
display
unit.
During
this time
the
laser
scanner
inside
the unit
is
being
transported
to the
starting
point
of
this
track.
-
When
button
3
"PLAY/
PAUSE"
is
pressed after in-
serling
the CD, the
disc will
begin
to
play
automatically im-
mediately
afterthe
disc
slot
has been
retracted.
Playing
tracks
in
random
order
lf
button
12
"RANDOM"
is
pressed
afterthe
disc
is
in-
serted,
the
tracks
on
the
discs
are not
played
in
consecutive
order but
in
random
order.
With
this
function,
the
individual
tracks
are
played
in
a
different
ordereach
timethe
disc
is
play-
ed. The
disc will continue to play
until button
6
"STOP"
is
pressed.
Theword
"RANDOM" appears
in
display
unit
2
to provide
a
visual
reminderthat the "Random
function"
has been
activated.

"RANDOM"
is
pressed during normal playing,
the unit
willswitch overto
"ran-
dom
function".
Pressing button

"RANDOM"
again
switches
off the
"Random
function"
and the
tracks
of
the
disc will once
again be read
in
the
normal sequence.
Pause

"PLAY/PAUSE" button

to briefly interrupt
playing. The
pause

will
appear
in
display
unit

to
remind
you
that the "PAUSE" button
has
been
pressed.
Press

once
moreto
continue playing.
Stop
You
can interrupt playing
at
any
time
by
pressing button

"STOP".
The
number
"0"
appears
in
the
display
unit
under
"TRACK"
oncethe
disc
has
been
stopped.
