time

Buttons

allow
you
to
start the
search operation while
the
disc
is
playing.
To do
this,
press
the button
and keep
it
pressed
until
you
have
reached
the
desired track.
This
does not
switch
off
the
unit. This
willallow
you to
f
ind the
track desired
quickly.
Afterthe
button
is
released
the
unit
returnsto
normal playing
operation.
lndex
You can
see on
the
CD
cover
whetherthe
disc
has
an index
or
not.
When
playing
a
disc with index
identification you
can
select the
index
of
thetrackto
be
played by
pressing button
S
"lNDEX UP/
DOWN".
Each
timethe
button
is
pressed,
the CD player
moves
one index
forward
or
backward
and
continues playing
atthis
point.
The index
chosen appears
brief-
ly
in
the
display unit under
.,MIN".
Then
the
playing
time
returns on
the
display.
An index of up to 99 can
be
selected.
lf
you choose
an index
which
is
higherthan the number
of
tracks
on
the
disc, for example, you
choose
indexO and the
disc only
has
5
tracks, then
the CD
unit
begins
playing
atthe
beginning
of
this
track.
Note:
lf
you
press
button
S
"lNDEX UP/
DOWN" and the
disc does not
have an index, the CD player
will
staft
at
the
beginning
of
the
track
being played.
Repeat
When "REPEAT" button
11 is
pressed,
the
entire disc
orthe
programmed tracks will
be
re-
peated
again and again. The
dis-
play unit

willshowthe
symbol
l$fs.

switch
off
the "repeat
function."
Selected Repeat

The
"selected
repeat
function"
provides you with
the
option
of
playing
a
certain
part
of
the
disc
over and over
again.
Here
is
an
example:
You
want to
listen
to
a
cedain
section
of
a
track
several
times
in
a
row.
After pressing "PLAY-
"button
3,
set
he
beginning
of
the
desired section with
buttons
5
or4. You
can
usethe display
unitto
help you
find
the
desired
section
or
you
can set
it
by ear.
When
you
reach
the desired
point, press
button
10
"4-8".
The
display
unit
will show the
symbolf!@fl
and the
flashing
letters
"A-8".
Then using buttons
5
or
4
again,
set the
scanning system
at
the
end
of
the desired section and
press
button
10
"4-B"
again.
The
letters
"A-B"
will remain
illuminated
in
the
display unit.
Now the set
selection will be
repeated
untilthe
"selected
re-
peat
function"
is
switched
off
by
pressing button

or by

Memory
The
built-in program memory
allows
you to
store
up
to

tracks
and
to
play
them back

whatever

you wish.
lf
you
should accidentally enter more
than

tracks, the memory will
stop storing tracks after
it
has
reached

and an
"F" will
appear
in
the
display
unit
under
"SEC" indicating incorrect input.
Each
track can
be
stored several
times within
the same
program.
Example:
You
have
a
disc with
24
tracks
and you
would
liketo hearthe
tracks
1
4, 2, 9,
9, 12
and
22 one
afterthe
other.
lnsertthe
disc
as
described
above.
Afterthe disc
has been
inseded,
the
display
unit
will show
the
number"24"
and
the
playing
time.
Press
one
of
the
buttons 5/4 repeatedly
untilthe
display shows
the
de-
sired
track
"l4".
This
numberwill
flash
to remind you
it
has
been
selected.
The
track
is
stored by
pressing button
9
"MEMORY".
The
symbol
@lQfl
wil
I
appear
in
the
dlsplay
unit
signifying the
"memory
function",
and
the
stored track will
remain
lit.
The
number
of
tracks
already
stored
will
appear under "SEC".
Now
press
track
2
and
store
it
by
pressing button
9
"MEMORY".
Then use
buttons
5/4 to
select
track9
and
pressthe
memory
button
9
twice
in
a
row.
After you
have
stored
tracks
1
2
and22,
press button
3
"PLAY/
PAUSE". Playback
of
the
pro-
grammed tracks will
begin.
After
allthe
programmed tracks have
been
played,
the
display
unit
will
show
"0".
lmportant:
When buttons

"OPEN/
CLOSE",

or

"A-8"
are
pressed
the
entire program
is
erased.
Care of
the
compactdisc
Always
hold the
disc
by
the
edges
and
keep
it
clean.
Do
not
touch the irridescent surface.
Do
not
stick paper
or
adhesive
tape
tothe
label side
of
the
disc.
Protect
the
disc from bright
sun-
light
and
sources
of heat
such
as
radiators.
Do not leave
it in
a
car
parked
in
the sun
because the
temperature
in
the car can
get
very high. Clean the
disc with
a
lint-free cloth before playing.
Do not use any
solvents such
as
naphtha, thinner
or any
other
commercially available cleaner.
Do not spray
your compact
disc
with
any
antistatic
spray
that
is
normally
used for
analog discs.
Replace the
disc
in its
coverafter
playing.
Operating instructions
The
digital disc
player
must be
operated
in
a
horizontal position.
lf
the
disc player
is
operated
on
an
incline
it
may
malfunction.
It is
especially
impodantto
make
surethat
no
discs
are
inseded or
removed
if
the
disc
player
is
on
an
incline.
lf
the
powerswitch
is
on
"ON"
when receiving aVHF
(FM)
or
MW (AM) radio
station, there
may
be
static
in
the reception.
lf
this happens, you
can either
dis-
connect
the
tuner
f
rom
the unit
or
switch the power
on
the
unit
to
,.OFF".
Moisture
accumulation
lf
the
unit
is
exposed
to
extreme
temperature changes, moisture
will
form inside
it.
This
fogs
up
the lens and
other pafts within
the
unit.
lf
the CD
player
is
operated
in
this condition,
the signals
from
the
laser beam
cannot
be read
and the
display
unit
willcontinu-
ouslyflash two vertical
lines.
lf
this should happen,
remove
the
CD, close the
slot, switch the
powerto
"ON"
and
allowthe
unit
to
stand for
one hour. This
will
remove the
accumulated mois-
ture
and the CD player can again
be
operated.
