4.1
Preparing the Truck for Checking
To avoid accidents observe the following:
Procedure
• Park the truck securely, see page 26.
• When working under a raised lift truck, secure it to prevent it from lowering, tipping
or sliding away.
4.2
Check and Adjust the Foot-Operated Parking Brake (o)
Check the parking brake
Procedure
• Press the foot-operated parking brake (7) in direction "A" as far as the stop
(releases the brake).
• Measure the gap between the brake pad and the wheel. If the gap is greater than
5 mm, the foot-operated parking brake must be adjusted.
Adjusting the parking brake
Procedure
• Press the foot-operated parking brake in direction "A" as far as the stop (releases
the brake).
• Hold nut (23) and loosen nut (22).
• Turn nut (23) clockwise until the brake pad contacts the wheel. Then loosen the nut
anticlockwise by two turns.
Z
Do not operate the foot-operated parking brake (7) while carrying out the
adjustment.
• Lock nut (23) in the set position with nut (22).
The parking brake has now been adjusted.
