Automatic calibration
8.7.1 General information
Automatic calibration includes the zero calibration and a
subsequent span calibration. It is an alternative to manually
carrying out the zero and span calibration.
Not all sensors and gases support automatic calibration. If the
function is not available, perform the calibration manually.
8.7.2 Perform automatic calibration
After 24 hours, zero calibration is not up-to-date any more.
Thus, automatic calibration cannot be performed unless zero
calibration is performed again.
Calibration can be aborted at any time. To abort calibration
select back.
Prerequisites:
– Automatic calibration is enabled.
– Sensor has finished the warm-up phase.
– Calibration is prepared.
Perform the automatic calibration as follows:
1. Apply Synthetic Air or Nitrogen if ambient air cannot be
used.
2. Select Calibration > Auto calibration and confirm.
 The message please wait... is displayed and the
instrument automatically performs the zero calibration.
 In the case of an O
displayed.
The Maintenance signal is transmitted by the analog
interface, no alarm or fault relays are switched and the
symbol
is displayed.
3. After a successful zero calibration, the span calibration is
started.
 The parameters for the gas are displayed, e. g.:
Gas : H
S
2
Unit: ppm
Concentr.:25
4. If the displayed parameters do not match the target gas,
2)
adjust the parameters:
a. Select Gas and confirm.
b. Select the calibration gas from the list and confirm.
c. Select Unit and confirm.
1) Not applicable for all sensors (see "Measuring mode", page 16).
2) Only possible for certain sensors.

f. Set the concentration of the calibration gas.
5. If settings are correct:
a. Select Next and confirm.
 A message like Gas flow ON H
6. Apply calibration gas.
a. Set the gas flow corresponding to the sensor used
(see "Gas flow for adjustments", page 22)
7. Select Next and confirm.
 The current value is displayed
After 15 minutes without confirmation, the instrument
reverts to the calibration menu without performing a
calibration.
8. Once the current value is stable, the instrument
automatically performs the span calibration.
9. After a successful calibration, the new current value and
the message Value OK? are displayed.
● If not, select Redo and confirm to perform the
calibration again.
● If the value corresponds the target value, proceed.
10. Turn off the gas flow and remove the calibration adapter
from the sensor or disconnect the hose.
11. Select Accept value and confirm to finish the calibration.
The instrument returns to the calibration menu.

Remedy
Have the instrument
checked by DrägerService.
Reset the instrument to fac-
tory settings. If the fault
occurs again: Have the
instrument checked by
DrägerService.
Check the power supply.
Check the 4 to 20 mA inter-
face connection.
If operated as a stand-
alone instrument without a
central controller, wire pin 3
to pin 4.
