• Make sure to keep the power cable of the ma-
chine at a safe distance from the attachment to
further reduce the risk of electrocution. That will
minimise the risk of damage to the cable insula-
tion or cutting through the cable with the abrasive
and also prevent the cable looping around your
hand or arm.
• Unplug the mains plug immediately if the electric
cable is damaged.
• Do not pull the electric cable around corners,
as this might result in kinks or tears in the cable,
which could then cause additional damage at a
later time.
• Never pull on the electric cable and only use the
actual plug to unplug the machine.
• Switch off the machine before you replace the
sanding disc or abrasive.
• Disconnect the machine from mains power
before replacing the attachment.
• Do not expose any part of the machine to caustic
media (e.g. chemicals) or excessive heat (above
60 °C).
• Do not attempt to make technical changes to the
machine.
• Keep the machine away from rain.
• Use only MENZER-recommended abrasives and
attachments compliant with intended use and
machine dimensions. All accessories must fit the
drive shaft exactly to prevent uneven running,
vibration and loss of control over the machine.
• Only use sanding discs of the correct size and in
compliance with manufacturer recommendations.
• Do not attempt working with used or worn
and adapted sanding discs from other electric
machines.
• After a fall of the machine, check the machine
and the attachment for visible damage. Remove
the attachment for thorough inspection.
Contact your MENZER Service workshop for
repairs of any damaged parts before use.
A broken attachment and damaged machines may

cause injuries or negatively impact the handling of
the machines.
• The use of damaged accessories is prohibited. All
accessories and the attachment must be checked
and replaced as needed before every use and af-
ter a fall or other potentially damaging occurrence.
• Do not use accessories with a rotational speed
that does not match or is higher than the max.
rotational speed stated on the machine.
• Regularly clean the ventilation slits on the ma-
chine to maintain proper cooling and to prevent
electrically conductive dust deposits, as these
pose an electrocution or short circuit hazard. Dis-
connect the machine from mains electricity and
use compressed air to clean the ventilation slits.
• Immediately disconnect the machine from mains
electricity when taking a break or finishing work
for the day.
• Switch off the machine immediately if it produces
unusual noises or if you feel unusual vibration and
contact MENZER Service.
• Machine operation may generate hazardous/tox-
ic dusts (e.g. when sanding specific types of wood
or mineral substances). Inhaling or skin contact
with these types of dust may be hazardous for the
machine operator and any other person within the
work area.
Take note of the safety requirements applicable in
your country.
Connect the machine to an appropriate dust
extraction system.
• Take extra care when working in corners, along
sharp edges, etc. (see also chapter 4.4)
• Always wear protective goggles to protect your
eyes while sanding.
• Wear a P2 respiratory mask to protect your
health.
• Noise emissions during operation may damage
hearing. Wear hearing protection!
• Keep the grips and grip areas dry, clean and free
from oil or grease.
• Caution! Fire hazard! Avoid overheating of the
workpiece and the machine. Always empty the
dust collection container before taking a work
break. Sanding dust in the filter bag or filter of
the dust extractor can spontaneously ignite in
unfavourable conditions. A fire hazard exists if
sanding dust mixes with varnish and/or polyure-
thane residue or other chemical components, and
the workpiece heats up after an extended work
session.
• Never attempt o lift the machine directly by the
start/safety switches.
• If you use attachments other than those intend-
ed, this may impair safety.
4.3 Working environment
• Ensure that there are no other persons at your
workplace or that there is a sufficient safety
distance between you and the next person.
• Any nails, bolts or other metal objects must be
removed from or fully countersunk into the work
surface to prevent damage to the attachment.
This measure will help prevent machine damage,
jamming and recoil.
• Attach an appropriate industrial dust extractor
to reduce the dust load.
• Sanding dust and flying fragments from the
abrasive or the workpiece are a hazard for your
eyesight. Wear protective goggles!
• Sanding dust poses a hazard to airways and
lungs. Wear a protective mask!
• Keep your hands, hair, feet and loose-fitting
clothing away from the attachment and/or
additionally protect these.
• Avoid physical contact with grounded surfaces
like radiators or pipes, cookers and refrigerators.
• Wear non-skid work boots.
• Ensure secure footing (good ground contact and
balance).
• Do not operate the machine in the immediate
vicinity of flammable materials, as they could
ignite from flying sparks.
• Read the data sheets provided by the material
manufacturers of the workpieces you wish to
sand. The machine must not be operated if
spontaneously combustible or explosive dusts
are generated, as a spark strike could have fatal
consequences.
• The machine must not be operated in explosive
environments.
• Ensure good ventilation of your workplace at all
times to prevent fainting and acute intoxication or
accidents due to the formation of toxic vapours.
Read the data sheets provided by the material
manufacturers. Wear appropriate PPE.
