WARNINGS
1. Watch out for kickback
2. Do not attempt to hold the saw with only one hand.
3. Avoid contact with the tip of the guide bar.
4. Hold the saw correctly with both hands.
WARNINGS
Kickback can cause a dangerous loss of control of the saw and result in serious or fatal injury to
the saw operator or anyone nearby. Always be alert, as rotational kickback and kickback due to
entrapment are the main operating hazards of the chain saw and the main cause of most accidents.
Kickback can occur when the tip of the guide bar touches an object, or when the wood closes and pinches
the chain saw chain in the cut.
In some cases, contact with the tip can cause a reverse speed reaction, moving the guide bar up and back
towards the operator.
Pinching the saw chain along the bottom of the guide bar can pull the saw forward, away from the operator.
Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide bar can pull the saw rapidly back towards the operator.
Either of these reactions can cause the operator to lose control of the saw, resulting in a risk of serious
injury.
