PREPARATION & OPERATION
1.1. Setting the multi adjust headgear
Böhler Welding helmets are fully assembled and ready to be used
after minor adjustments. All Evolution Vision welding helmets are
equipped with a comfortable headgear that has 4 points of adjust-
ment for maximum comfort.
Top of the head adjustment: There are 3 adjustment straps along the
top. Unfasten the watch strap and side to the preferred position and
refasten.
Head band size: Rotate the adjustment knob at the rear of the
headgear assembly to fit the user's head. (p. 6 - Fig. 03)
Longitudinal adjustment: Allowing the helmet shell to move closer or
further away from the face. To adjust these press the push on the left
and right side of the helmet and slide it forward or backward. By
releasing the push button, the longitudinal adjustment locks in place.

Angular adjustment: Allowing the tilt of the helmet to optimize the
viewing orientation. To adjust lift the rake pull it gently towards the
inside of the helmet and rotate left/right until it finds the required
locking position. (p. 6 - Fig. 02)
1.2. Setting the auto-darkening welding filter (ADF)
ON/ OFF
Press the on/off button to turn on the ADF. Use the same process to
turn the ADF off.
Shade Adjustment on the ADF Evolution Vision 65FM (Auto Shade):
Press the "MODE" button to switch between the modes "WELD", "CUT"
and "AUTO":

Auto Shade - The ADF automatically selects the appropriate
shade according to the intensity of the welding arc. You can fine
tune the shade to your personal preferences by reducing/incre-
asing the shade level by +/-2. To do this press the shade button.

Weld Mode - Press the shade button to adjust the shade from 9
to 14 each press cycles the shade up once at shade 14 it will
cycle back to 9 with an additional press.

Cut Mode - Press the shade button to adjust the shade from 4 to
8 each press cycles the shade up once at shade 8 it will cycle back
to 4 with an additional press.

Delay Control
The delay function adjusts how quickly the lens returns to the clear
state once the arc has stopped.
To adjust the delay press the "DELAY" button each press adjust the
delay level up once and cycles back through to the start. The delay
can be adjusted in 6 steps (0.1 - 0.85 sec.)
Sensitivity Control
The sensitivity control allows you to set the ADF to the optimum level
according to the ambient light.
To alter the sensitivity press the "SENSI" button. Each press adjust
the delay level up one and cycles back through to the start. The
sensitivity can be adjusted in 6 steps.
Low Battery
When the low battery indicator flashes please replace battery as
soon as possible. For the battery replacement please follow the ins-
tructions in the maintenance section.
Before commencing work please inspect carefully the welding helmet
and ADF for any visible marks, cracks, pitted or scratched surfaces;
damaged surfaces even on protection plates reduce vision impair
protection. If protection plates are scratched, damaged or built up
with spatter please replace.
Welding helmets should not be dropped. Do not place heavy objects
or tools on or inside the helmet as they might damage the components.
If used with care, the welding filter requires no further maintenance
during its lifetime.
SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE
Only clean the helmet with mild soap and water. Dry with a clean cotton
cloth. The use of solvents is strictly prohibited, as they will damage the
mask and filters. Scratched or damaged visors must always be replaced.
The user must make daily regular checks to ensure no damage is evident.
Outer and inner visors are wear parts and must be replaced regularly with
genuine certified universal spare parts.
We recommend a use period of 3-4 years. The duration of use depends
on various features such as useage, cleaning, storage and mainte-
nance. Frequency of inspections and replacement of damaged parts
is recommended.
REPLACING THE PROTECTION LENS
Ensure that the helmet is always fitted with Böhler Welding appro-
ved outer and inner protection lens.
The protection lenses must be replaced when broken, damaged or
covered with welding spatter to the extent that vision is impaired.
Outer and Inner protection lenses are wear parts and must be re-
placed regularly with genuine certified spare parts.
Make sure to remove the protective films from the new protection
lenses before use.
