14.1.1 Preparation of timber

The distance at which the backstop must be positioned from
the front of the template fingers depends on the size of the
router base mounted on your router.
The formula for calculating the distance/depth is as follows:

The distance from the tips of the template fingers to the
vertical surface of the backstop (1) should be set to the
calculated distance/depth.
1. Set a calliper to the calculated depth and set the
backstop (1) as shown.
2. Then fix the position with the fixing screw.
It is not necessary for this setting to be accurate at

this time, as the final settings can be made later.
- Make sure that the template and counter stop
o
remain parallel to the front edge of the fixture during
this adjustment.

Loosen the two template securing screws (1)
and position the template so that the tips of
the fingers are 3 mm from the edge of the
vertically mounted wood.

As with all detailed joining work, the
components must be accurately dimensioned,
cut and aligned at right angles.
The width of the wood must be adapted to the
respective template.
The joints (b + c), as shown on the left, are
cut on the left side of the device.
The connections (a + d), as shown on the left,
are cut on the right side of the device.
The front and back parts are mounted at the
top of the device with the inside edges facing
