General Care Instructions
• For the care of your Amoena breast form (does not apply to the Amoena Contact prosthesis, see page 16),
we recommend daily washing by hand with the Amoena Soft Cleanser, a mild soap or liquid detergent.
It should then be rinsed in clean water and dried with a soft towel. Body lotion, powder and natural body
oils, can cause a film to form on the inside of the breast form.
• Please handle your breast form with care. Pointed or sharp items such as pins, animal claws, nail files,
scissors, etc. can damage the breast form. Breast forms made of lightweight silicone should be handled
with particular care in order to avoid damaging the lightweight silicone. Please do not press these with
your fingers and/or nails, just as you would not do with your skin.
• Any type of discolouration or staining cannot be removed. However, it will not have any affect on the
quality or function of the breast form.
• Some substances can damage the film coating of the breast form:
• Alcohols such as ethanol, propanol or butanol when used at the same time as organic,
low-molecular substances such as insect repellent (DEET) or sun cream
• Ethyl acetate and other esters
• Acetone
Wait until the substances have been absorbed and wash your hands before touching your breast
form. Disinfectants are permitted.
• Product-specific care and application instructions for Amoena Contact and Adapt Air prostheses can be
found on pages 14-18
CONTACT BREAST FORMS
All Contact products are delivered with a sample size Amoena Soft Cleanser a soft brush, a protective film
and a cover pad.
Instructions for Use Contact Breast Forms
• The adhesive strength of the breast form can vary depending on your skin type (oily or dry). It is also
dependent on how much you sweat, your level of physical exertion and the condition of the scar area.
• However, selective adhesion is sufficient to reduce strain on your shoulder and neck.
• The Contact breast form can be worn when playing sport, but adhesion may be reduced due to the build-
up of sweat. The adhesive breast form is chlorine-resistant and salt-resistant. However, it should be
cleaned directly after use in clean water with the Amoena Soft Cleanser.
• Wear the Amoena Contact every day from the beginning. The more regularly the breast form is worn,
the better your skin will accept the adhesive.
• In the case of extensive and intensive wear, sweat and small skin particles will build up on the adhesive
surface in the course of the day. This means adhesion will slowly decrease.
• Thorough cleaning of the adhesive surface reactives the adhesion. Putting the breast form back on after
cleaning gives you a feeling of security again.
• If your skin tends towards dryness, apply moisturising skin care after wearing the Contact breast form.
• For each Contact breast form and Contact breast shaper, a 3-month exchange right applies. If you
14
struggle to achieve adhesion within the first 3 months, you can exchange it for a bra-supported Amoena
product.
• The protective film protects the adhesive surface during storage. Please remove it before wearing. The
cover pad can be used to cover the adhesive surface so that the prosthesis is not self-adhesive but can be
worn in the bra pocket.
Putting On the Contact Breast Form
1. First clean your skin carefully. Then let the skin dry fully. The drier and cleaner your skin is, the better
the adhesion of the breast form. Please do not touch the adhesive surface of the breast form, as this can
impair the adhesion.
2. Now put on your bra and check the fit. Next pull your bra strap completely off your shoulder and arm
and lean forwards.
3. Using the hand from your non-operated side, take hold of the bra strap and pull the cup away from the
body.
4. Take the breast form in the other hand and place it in the cup of the bra. The upper corner of the breast
form should be close to the bra strap. Stay leaning forwards. Make sure that the breast form sits well in
the bra. See diagram 1 page 3
5. Cup the outer edge of your bra with your free hand and slowly straighten up. As you do so, carefully
press the breast form onto your body.
6. Now pull the bra strap over your shoulder and press the breast form firmly into place again.
See diagram 2 page 3
7. Check the fit. If the breast form is not well positioned, lean forwards and start over.
Taking Off the Contact Breast Form
1. Cup the breast form with one hand as completely as possible, so that your fingertips are near the edge,
and lean forwards until you feel the weight of the breast form in your hand. Starting at a point some
distance from the scar, slowly pull the breast form off the body.
2. If the adhesive surfaces accidentally stick together as they are removed, they can be easily separated
again under running water.
3. Please be careful with long fingernails. These can damage the coating of the breast form.
General Care Instructions Contact Breast Forms
• Only use Amoena Soft Cleanser to clean your self-adhesive Contact breast form. It reactivates the
adhesive and therefore enables the best adhesion..
• Skin texture and skin evaporations caused by e.g. medications and care products can affect the
adhesive strength. Please clean your breast form daily and thoroughly to achieve optimal and long-term
adhesion.
• Small clumps that form on the adhesive surface should not be removed. Do not use any other cleaning
agents such as abrasive powder or implements such as scissors or tweezers. Clean the adhesive surface
with the Amoena Soft Cleanser and the special brush.
