To open the cooker:
• Make sure that there is no longer any internal pressure (steam) in the
cooker by checking the position of the pressure indicator pin;
• Remove the working valve, making sure
that it doesn't fall;
• Open the cooker by turning the lid in the
anticlockwise direction until the arrow on
the lid is lined up with the arrow on the
handle or handhold (fig. 13).
• While turning the lid, do not force the
handle upwards. Just turn it slowly until
the arrows are lined up, then lift up and
remove the lid. This will prevent damage to the cooker's parts.
6 - Care
• Neither heat up the pressure cooker when it is empty, nor allow all of the
water inside to evaporate during cooking;
• Regularly check the cooker while in use, especially the pressure
indication system;
• Take extreme care when handling the cooker, especially when it is
pressurized.
• Always make sure the different parts of the cooker are in proper
operating condition before use. If any parts are in need of replacement,
contact Tramontina at one of the addresses found in this booklet or on
the site (www.tramontina.com). Only replace worn parts with authentic
Tramontina parts.
7 - Pressure cooker care and maintenance
Care and cleaning:
• Once food has been cooked, remove it from the cooker and wash the
utensil immediately. It is especially important to wash it if the food is either
acidic or has a very high alkaline content, as both can damage the cooker.
Wash the surface with hot water mixed with neutral dish soap;
• Light abrasives, such as soap containing abrasives, can only be used on
the inside of the cooker body;
• In order to remove any caked on food, fill the cooker with cold water, close
the lid and heat it on the stove. After steam begins to be released, leave it
on the stove for at least 10 minutes before removing it. When the cooker

has cooled off, open it and finish cleaning.
Attention: For pots with an external silicone finish, do not let fat run along
the sides, as stains may occur as a result of contact with the flame.
